Nicole Moudaber

Nicole Moudaber Biography:

A true force to be reckoned with as a DJ and producer, Nicole Moudaber’s rise through the ranks of the DJ elite has been swift, purposeful and striking. Nigerian-born, Lebanon-raised, and now living in London, Moudaber’s eclectic background manifests itself in her global and diverse sound: edgy, percussive house mixed with tough, soulful techno that exudes emotion and energy that has propelled her to the very forefront of today’s exciting international electronic dance music scene. Take a look at our recent interview with Moudaber and find out just how much making music means to her.

Hey, thanks for taking the time with us here today, how are you doing?

Doing great, thanks.

What does it mean to you to be one of the few female acts in electronic music, does being female set you back at all or help you in this industry?

Ask me another question. That’s not something I like to focus on, I concentrate on the music.

Where do you draw most of your inspirations from?

Everywhere, everything and everyone.

What is your first memory with electronic dance music?

Junior Vasquez at Twilo in NYC.

What has been your best experience so far in your rise as an up and coming DJ?

People recognizing my music on the floor – these are the best moments for sure. As well as support from peers.

Describe an average night for you at your residency at Carl Cox’s weekly parties at Space Ibiza or Pacha in NYC.

Not much of a difference in terms of people loving the music. Space has a bigger production in place, but the crowd is definitely the same. People are there to enjoy the music no matter where they are.

What are some of your favorite songs right now?

Reboot “In The Sky” and Adam Beyer “Dot” to name a few

Any cool things planned for the next couple months?

This weekend I’m looking forward to seeing the LA festival crowd at Nocturnal. ADE with Awakenings and Carl Cox should definitely be one to look out for, this will be broadcast all over the world. Also the Drumcode party at the end of October in London. My album should hopefully be ready by November, and launching my label towards the end of the year is also a priority. Busy days but all looking shweeeeet.

What is one thing you hope your fans draw from your music?

If I move them, then I’m happy.
