Tiesto – Take Me feat. Kyler England (Original Mix)

Tiesto - Take Me

What really makes Tiesto such a spectacular artist is his ability to reinvent himself over and over again to not only fit the times, but to define them. His newest single off of his highly anticipated Tiesto’s Club Life Vol. 3: Stockholm, “Take Me,” features Kyler England from the indie rock band The Rescues. This track has that signature Tiesto big room sound which is epic beyond proportion when coupled with Ms. England’s amazing vocals. To state the track is catchy is an understatement, yet it is not cheesy by any means as Tiesto keeps us on our toes with his fantastic synthesized melodies, massively bass driven beats, and a plethora of new electronica sounds which give the single the distinction it deserves. Take a listen below to the latest direction Tiesto is embarking on and stay tuned for the release of Tiesto’s Club Life Vol. 3: Stockholm! It’s going to be one for the books.

Wobble Wednesday: Martin Solveig & The Cataracs feat. Kyle – Hey Now (Carnage Remix) [Preview]

martin solveig - techiMartin Solveig & The Catarac’s newest pop anthem, “Hey Now” has received the good ol’ remix treatment by none other then Carnage. Straying away from the “festival trap” sound that brought him to glory, Carnage has taken a new musical direction which can be heard in the progressive house roots of the remix, yet he still manages to drop the bass. And a lot of it too. The foreign influences upon the musical intricacies of the drop turn a once incredibly poppy song into a bouncy and bass driven rager. The official release date for this song has yet to be announced, but stay tuned and get familiar with the reinvented Carnage as he’s pumping out new and different material constantly. Enjoy!

Wobble Wednesday: Disclosure – You & Me feat. Eliza Doolittle (Baauer Remix) [Preview]

baauer remix - techi

When I saw that Baauer had remixed Disclosure and Eliza Doolittle’s “You & Me” I couldn’t help but assume that it would be a typical trap remix. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Baauer is incredibly versatile and fully capable of surprising his now huge fan base. He sped up the tempo, raised Eliza Doolittle’s voice even higher, and completely altered the entire feel of “You & Me” with the beat, while retaining its most quintessential components. The fact that Baauer is branching out from his typical trap sound which brought him to fame speaks wonders about his future and his willingness to experiment with contemporary sounds. Take a listen to the preview below and make sure to pick up the official copy when it drops on May 21st. Enjoy!

Krewella – Alive (Hardwell Remix)

hardwell - techi

The Chicago-based trio, Krewella, has been making quite an impact on the dance world this year with their unique blend of gorgeous vocals courtesy of Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf with the Rainman’s dubstep, electro house, and drum n’ bass productions. Their single, “Alive,” has hit the top of Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Chart and Hardwell, the #6 DJ in the world, wanted to keep the momentum of the song alive with his own rendition of the hit. Just the fact that Krewella is catching the attention of heavy hitters such as Hardwell speaks wonders for their quickly rising career over the past year. The remix features Jahan and Yasmine’s easily distinguishable vocals and lyrics, but the familiar song quickly takes a turn towards the signature dutch sound that brought Hardwell to prominence. Euphoric synthesizer chords, stabbing Hardwell synth leads, and a fat bass beat accompany the massive build-up which takes the energy of this song to a new level. Fans of both Hardwell and Krewella will absolutely lose it when they listen to this song as it takes the best from both artists and mashes them both together into a soon to be huge festival banger. If you don’t believe me, then take a listen for yourself and let us know what you guys think. Enjoy!

Discopolis – Falling (Committed To Sparkle Motion) (Axwell Radio Edit)

Axwell - techibeats

The highly anticipated release of Axwell’s Radio Edit of “Falling (Committed to Sparkle Motion)” is finally here for all of our listening pleasures. Much different from the bigroom Dubvision remix of the track earlier released on Axtone and heard in the Mafia’s sets, Axwell goes with the feel of the original track by the 4-piece electronic band, Discopolis, from Edinburgh. The mix of the live instrumentation with Axwell’s electronic production makes for the perfect electronic-alternative combination. It’s amazing to see Axwell branch out so far from his typical club sound where he has been since he first made it as a DJ/Producer, yet it speaks wonders for his musicianship as this song blatantly shows his versatility as a producer. His latest solo ventures as well as the quality productions that have been coming off of his power house label are just a taste of what is to come. Enjoy!

Phoenix – Entertainment (Hot Natured Remix)

phonix - techi

Phoenix has been killing it this past year with their countless festival headlines this summer and their rise back to the top with the release of their latest album Bankrupt. Hot Natured has only  increased the hype surrounding Phoenix with their remix of Phoenix’s hit single off of Bankrupt, “Entertainment.” Straying far away from the original energy, hard hitting beats, and up-tempo from the original, Hot Natured turns the “Entertainment” into a very chill, disco/house track that is just as, if not more, pleasing to the ear. Thomas Mars’ vocal samples are stellar on top of the layers of funky bass, disco-inspired percussion, and syncopated synth stabs produced by Hot Natured. Enjoy!

Daft Punk | Random Access Memories | The Collaborators: Panda Bear

Panda Bear aka Noah Benjamin Lennox the founder of Animal Collective talks about his experience with collaborating with Daft Punk on their newest album Random Access Memories which will be released on May 21st. The 34 year old experimental musician has changed the musical landscape with Animal Collective and he continues to push the boundaries with his collaboration with Daft Punk on their new album. They first became acquainted when Panda Bear reached out to the robots a couple years earlier inquiring if they could do a remix of one of their songs to which they curtly replied, “We don’t do that stuff anymore.” A little while after that Panda Bear reached out to them again after doing some solo work to see if they could remix one of his own songs to which they once again said, “We don’t do that stuff anymore… But maybe we could work on something together.” Then a year and a half later Daft Punk reached out to Panda Bear inviting him to Paris to collaborate on something with them. We’ll keep you updated with more on the Panda Punk collaboration as the album release date nears, but until then check out this short documentary to get even more hyped for the impending album drop. Random Access Memories seems like it’s going to be more life changing with each and every collaborator video released.

Wobble Wednesday: Zeds Dead – Spring Mix [Free Download]

artworks-000045786808-w1qic9-t500x500Spring is in the air once again which means that festival season is that much closer to approaching. I couldn’t think of any better way to celebrate then with a filthy, grimy, and awesome hour mix by Zeds Dead as they showcase their ever improving talents behind the decks. These two guys have blown up in the past two years and I can’t possibly see the momentum they’ve been building slow down any time soon. They are fearless when it comes to their song selection as their transitions from dub-step to hip-hop to electro house to trap seems almost flawless while others will never venture outside of their comfort zone. These two are definitely making a name for themselves and if you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing them live yet be sure to catch them as they ride the festival circuit all summer long. Enjoy!

Will.i.am. Admits to Using Arty and Mat Zo’s “Rebound” Without Permission

will.i.am-willpower-2013-1500x1500

The release of will.i.am’s new album #willpower was met with some controversy last week as the Grammy award winning artist was caught by the EDM community for heavily sampling Arty and Mat Zo’s song “Rebound” without their permission in his single with Chris Brown entitled, “Let Go.” He finally got the chance to sit down with Kiss FM to explain his actions: Arty is a dope producer so I wrote this song to Rebound this last year. I got in touch with Arty and showed it to him…but something happened and hopefully we can resolve the issue. It’s sad that it’s turned into a fiasco but hopefully it’s resolved, because I’m a fan of those guys. I contacted them last year and we’re fixing it now. It appears that will.i.am’s intentions were not as malicious as we had first assumed; nonetheless, justice shall be served and Arty, Mat Zo, and Anjunabeats will receive the credit and compensation they deserve. The most interesting thing about this whole fiasco was the reaction that it received from the EDM community via Twitter, Facebook, other news outlets, and word of mouth. It seemed like everyone was talking about what happened and will.i.am went from being a friend to a foe to a fool in a mere day for thinking we wouldn’t recognize the illegal use of “Rebound.” It just goes to show that the world is a lot smaller nowadays and that dance music lovers from around the globe will always bind together to protect the integrity of our music and of our artists.
