Daft Punk | Random Access Memories | The Collaborators: Pharrell Williams

The Daft Punk news has been rolling out faster than ever lately. With the rest of the collaborators announced, more SNL commercials, an interview with Rolling Stone and the latest episode in the Collaborators series out today. This episode features Pharrell Williams who features on two tracks, ‘Get Lucky’ and ‘Lose Yourself To Dance’, speaks about his experience working with the robotic duo on the album and some of his feelings regarding their music. Random Access Memories will be released on May 21st.

Daft Punk, Pharrell & Nile Rogers “Get Lucky SNL Ad

After premiering the video at Coachella two days ago the duo aired the trailer of the upcoming single ‘Get Lucky’ with Pharrell and Nile Rogers on SNL. The four are adorned in shiny, sequined attire as Nile plays the guitar, Pharrell on the mic and the robotic duo on the bass and drums. Their upcoming album, Random Access Memories will be released on May 21st.

Ahh, it’s such a sad feeling when a new and good song’s preview ends just as you’re getting into it. That’s exactly what happened with Will Sparks’ new track “The Viking,” which isn’t released until April 19th. Keeping his usual dutch-y style, Sparks adds a little more grungy bass to the drop, and a bit more melody in the breakdown. Yet in his own special way is able to keep his unique sound, and somehow create the best synths and use them in the best fashion. Coachella 2013: 15 Electronic acts you can’t miss and why

The final countdown has begun and nothing makes us more antsy than knowing only a few more days of school work stand between us and our unofficial “holiday weekend.”  Last week, the city of Indio granted approval for Goldenvoice to extend their annual music festivals on the polo fields through 2030 and also expand to hold 15,000 more attendees by next year. As loyal Coachella fans rejoice over the news, we couldn’t be more excited to return to the holy land. By now we’re checking off what to pack and who to see, aside from mentally preparing for the heat waves that await us, BUT before we hit the road…we leave you with one more cheat sheet to festival success!

Where does one begin when speaking about the influence that Giorgio Moroder has had on dance music? His innovative techniques lead him to do things that others have never even considered. He was one of the first to ever produce dance music with an analog synthesizer and thus began to build a reputation for his quality work. Soon his legendary reputation caught up to him as he became a highly touted producer in the 70′s, making hits for a number of stars including Donna Summer. In this video, the legend speaks about his accomplishments and gives his take on Daft Punk. Henrix – Rock This Dream EP [Preview]

Henrix released his massive collaboration track “Hit It” a little over a month ago, but shows no signs of easing up; his newest project is a three track EP, to be released on Laidback Luke’s Mixmash Records this upcoming Monday. From the Youtube preview, it appears that Rock This Dream EP will be full of epic melodies – including a take on the iconic Requiem For A Dream theme – and obliterating electro synths. The video preview above should do plenty to get your heart racing, although you’ll have to wait until April 8th to fully satisfy your Henrix cravings.
