Justice – Access All Arenas (Album)

The French electronic duo from the house of Ed Banger Records has kept us waiting long enough for their live album and at last it’s here to add to our collections. Justice, composed of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay have contributed greatly to the rise of the electronic music scene, pushing the envelope with their rock star lifestyle and influenced beats in arenas across the globe. Released with 14 tracks, and every track that an unfamiliar fan would ever need to get acquainted with their boundary breaking sound, the album echoes with cries of fans in the audience that have you reminiscing of their white lit up cross blinding you in front row. The album was recorded in France at the Arena of Nimes last July and although it’s been almost a year since then, their sound still creates chills from start to finish.

Julio Bashmore – Battle For Middle You (Jim Rivers Future Bristol Boogie Re Rub) [Free Download]

JimRivers

When I think of the best in deep house of 2011, Julio Bashmore’s afterhours anthem is what comes to mind. Infused with its deep bassline and repetitive chant that resembles the likes of a disco melody, “Battle For Middle You” has our feet stomping along with the vocals each time it hits the dance floor. UK’s Jim Rivers has cooked up a special rework that compliments the original with his underground tech sound that gives Bashmore’s a run for its money. Enjoy the free download below!

Daft Punk Interview with Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1

Yesterday, Pete Tong got to sit down and talk with the one and only Daft Punk, discussing their life over the last few years and of course about their upcoming album, Random Access Memories. The interview consists of Thomas speaking most of the time with Pete, going in depth on their album and how it came about. He goes into detail about their work with the various collaborators and gives a little more insight to the story behind Pharrel Williams not remembering recording “Get Lucky” in Paris. As you listen, Pete Tong mentions that he has heard the whole album and talks with Thomas about some of the other tracks that we’ve never heard before, hinting at some vibes to expect. We also get word on the current plans for a future tour and to expect some Daft Punk remixes – which I am very excited about. Enjoy!

Axwell – Center of the Universe (Remode Version) [Preview]

Ultra Records was kind enough to share a radio rip of Axwell’s new track “Center of the Universe” off Pete Tong’s show. Eyes were on the now solo act to see how he would debut his new music, and while there have been a lot of negative comments regarding the rip, it’s nice to see the producer/dj go back to his house roots. Swedish House Mafia released similar tracks and never had a creative breakthrough according to many, yet this track shows potential in Axwell and his upcoming years in the business. Overall, a job well done. The vocals go nicely with the piano beat, and there is no need for a loud lead synth overpowering the rest of the track because of the balance between sounds. There’s no release date yet, but check out the stream above! Enjoy!

Daft Punk The Collaborators Episode 7 – DJ Falcon

With exactly two weeks until the release of Daft Punk’s upcoming album Random Access Memories they give us the seventh episode of The Collaborators series. This episode features long time Daft Punk crony DJ Falcon, who talks about working with the duo when they were young. There is some excellent footage of Thomas and Guy playing some early shows in France with no helmets, looking no older than 20.

Discopolis – Falling (Committed To Sparkle Motion) (Axwell Radio Edit)

Axwell - techibeats

The highly anticipated release of Axwell’s Radio Edit of “Falling (Committed to Sparkle Motion)” is finally here for all of our listening pleasures. Much different from the bigroom Dubvision remix of the track earlier released on Axtone and heard in the Mafia’s sets, Axwell goes with the feel of the original track by the 4-piece electronic band, Discopolis, from Edinburgh. The mix of the live instrumentation with Axwell’s electronic production makes for the perfect electronic-alternative combination. It’s amazing to see Axwell branch out so far from his typical club sound where he has been since he first made it as a DJ/Producer, yet it speaks wonders for his musicianship as this song blatantly shows his versatility as a producer. His latest solo ventures as well as the quality productions that have been coming off of his power house label are just a taste of what is to come. Enjoy!

Our Stolen Theory – Warmest Day (Mike Shiver & Johan Vilborg Remix)

7271963

One of my favorite labels and producers continue to release quality melodic progressive house on a regular basis – that being Silk Royal Records and Johan Vilborg. This new collaboration remix with Mike Shiver and Johan Vilborg of Our Stolen Theory’s “Warmest Day” is a great mix of production styles that you don’t see too often. You can really hear each producer’s work in this one with Mike Shiver covering the main beat and harder electro elements. Whereas Johan’s soothing style is seen in the piano melody and big synth chords that give you those goosebumps. Give this one a listen a few times because it grows on you the more you hear it. Enjoy!

Discopolis – Falling (Committed To Sparkle Motion) (Axwell Radio Edit) [Official Music Video]

Getting ready for it’s release next Monday, the official music video of Axwell’s Radio Edit of “Falling” by Discopolis has been released. As a multi-genre music lover myself, I fell in love with this song the second I heard it. The vibes and musical composition of “Falling” really hit it off for me, giving off a similar feeling to the electronic-alternative style of M83. It’s great to see that Axwell is giving house music a rest and executing production in this realm flawlessly. I hope some of his fans can make this move as well and branch out to some different music that is nothing but amazing. Enjoy!
