PrototypeRaptor – Nostalgiarithm LP

One of the most underrated artists in the mix right now, PrototypeRaptor, has just completed his highly anticipated sophomore album, Nostalgiarithm, and it is a true masterpiece. Though slightly more mellow than his previous work, Nostalgiarithm features an array of incredibly well-produced tracks that cover a wide spectrum of sub-genres, shedding light on PrototypeRaptor’s exceptional production skill. The album starts off strong with the track “Timeless,” which was previously released as a single. This track opens into a very powerful and well composed piano riff, which reminds me slightly of a ragtime tune. The track opens up into a massive complextro drop while still maintaining a ‘feel good’ vibe. The album also has a harder side, for example, my personal favorite “Soul Trap.” This song drops into a hard-hitting electro chorus that would send any dance floor through the roof. The album caps off with “4:30 AM,” a very mellow, nostalgic dub track that really ties the album together. PrototypeRaptor continues to prove his exceptional production skills and solidify his place within the EDM world. His most recent remix of Wolfgang Gartner’s “Push and Rise” is by far one of his better productions and is a perfect example of the young artist’s diversity. PrototypeRaptor chooses to keep the same chord progression as the original track while adding a few more synths for a truly melodic sound. The track really becomes unique at the 1:52 mark where it breaks into an incredible solo piano buildup before dropping back into the original melody. The Three Headed Band with the One Man name? Yes, you better believe it’s the one and only Miike Snow! Remixes done to the songs of Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg, and Andrew Wyatt are what you would classify as the ultimate FUN-da-mentals of exciting and fun party music. These three have been producing band banger tracks since the late 2000′s, and big EDM names such as Treasure Fingers, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Wolfgang Gartner have loved putting their own flavors of electro and house elements to these indie funk tracks. Their bright big bold sounds are easily displayed in their remixed tracks, ‘Animal’, ‘Silva’, and now ‘Paddling Out’.
