Ultra Records was kind enough to share a radio rip of Axwell’s new track “Center of the Universe” off Pete Tong’s show. Eyes were on the now solo act to see how he would debut his new music, and while there have been a lot of negative comments regarding the rip, it’s nice to see the producer/dj go back to his house roots. Swedish House Mafia released similar tracks and never had a creative breakthrough according to many, yet this track shows potential in Axwell and his upcoming years in the business. Overall, a job well done. The vocals go nicely with the piano beat, and there is no need for a loud lead synth overpowering the rest of the track because of the balance between sounds. There’s no release date yet, but check out the stream above! Enjoy!

Wobble Wednesday: Zeds Dead – The Living Dead EP

We already had a firm understanding of what the groundbreaking duo, Zeds Dead, was capable of; and that was before they brought rapper and lyricist, Omar Linx, into the equation. These guys break barriors and cross musical boundries every time they hit the studio and their most recent release titled The Living Dead EP is no exception. The EP’s influences stem to Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Electro-House, and everything in between. Each track on the EP is heavily bass-influenced as you may have guessed, but Omar Linx gives each track a steady flow through his lyrical insights that the tracks were otherwise lacking. Any fan of Dubstep, not just Zeds Dead, would be sure to find something on this EP to subside their desire for high doses of bass.

Wolfgang Gartner – Redline (Original Mix)

Wolfgang Gartner has been straying away from his traditional Electro sound as of late and has been focusing on a more traditional House feel. “Redline” utilizes a catchy synth pattern throughout the track to seamlessly transfer from break to build to drop. This is not something most Wolfgang fans would expect to hear from the man, but he does an excellent job with the track and consequently reveals a rediscovery of his roots.
