Tiesto - Take Me

What really makes Tiesto such a spectacular artist is his ability to reinvent himself over and over again to not only fit the times, but to define them. His newest single off of his highly anticipated Tiesto’s Club Life Vol. 3: Stockholm, “Take Me,” features Kyler England from the indie rock band The Rescues. This track has that signature Tiesto big room sound which is epic beyond proportion when coupled with Ms. England’s amazing vocals. To state the track is catchy is an understatement, yet it is not cheesy by any means as Tiesto keeps us on our toes with his fantastic synthesized melodies, massively bass driven beats, and a plethora of new electronica sounds which give the single the distinction it deserves. Showtek and Noisecontrollers – Get Loose (Tiesto Remix)

tiestoTiesto has masterfully remixed yet another track into what I consider to be superior to it’s original. His take on “Get Loose” by Showtek and Noisecontrollers warps their initial production into something far more housey and danceable. Tiesto has greatly slowed down the track, and the lesser amount of BPMs allows for house dominance in the song as opposed to the original hardstyle pace. “Get Loose” features classic Tiesto sounds, and brings back memories of hearing “Maximal Crazy” for the first time. His remix here features similar sounds, with that same heavy back bassline, funky fun synths, and siren like sounds. This take on “Get Loose” from the epic Tiesto in one word: HUGE. Take a listen for yourself, this song will be blowing up DJ sets all summer.

Tiësto Commercial for Acer Aspire P3 Ultrabook

We have been seeing more and more commercials with DJ’s now a days but this one completely takes the cake. Tiesto is the star of a 3 minute long commercial that actually has a very humorous plot. The commercial also shows scenes from his most recent College Invasion Tour and has a unique spin at the end. At first we were a bit worried hearing that he was pushing a PC computer but as always Tiesto makes it look cooler than seeing him front row at one of his shows. Props to Tiesto on this commercial, if you haven’t seen it yet we highly recommend watching it above.

Firebeatz continues to light up Tiesto’s Musical Freedom imprint with yet another electro house smasher; this time alongside Bobby Burns. “Ding Dong” is a quality track from start to finish with a sturdy bassline and crunchy drop. The track isn’t taken to that next level until a massive grand piano chord break leads into another build and an even heavier drop. This funky groove will get your head bobbing back and forth as it would make an excellent addition to any set. Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, & GTA feat. Wolfpack – Turn It Up (Original Mix)

The Belgian brothers, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, have been on fire this year releasing banger after banger of everything from big room house to hard style in preparation for this years festival circuit which their tunes always seem to dominate. “Turn It Up,” coming off of Tiesto’s Musical Freedom label, is their latest collaboration with GTA and Wolfpack and it, like everything else they produce, is massive. Their distinctly European synthesizer sound is really emphasized in this track as it forms the main melody leading up to the GTA influenced percussion based drop. Then, as the dust begins to settle, the bridge begins to build back the energy with an intense synthesizer chord progression that leads up to an even harder drop as stabbing synths dance in and out of the drums GTA laid down in the first drop. All in all, “Turn It Up” is nothing short of a festival anthem which has seemed to become Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s production of choice since their inception. Enjoy!

Wobble Wedneday: Passion Pit – Carried Away (Dillon Francis Remix)

What I love most about Dillon Francis is the fact that he stands almost alone when it comes to his particular sound which is quite apparent in his latest remix of Passion Pit’s single, “Carried Away.” Although he remains true to his moombahton roots, Dillon Francis’ sound has developed over the years as the combination of choppy vocal samples, fat electro bass beats, and feel good synthesizer melodies have also become a staple to the fantastically unique music he produces. “Carried Away (Dillon Francis Remix)” is no different, yet although other DJ’s grow content with their style Dillon Francis continues to get better and enjoy his creations even more. On his Soundcloud for this song he wrote, “Here’s my extremely happy remix of Passion Pits song carried away… this and my suit and tie remix might be my favorites to date!!” exemplifying his ever maturing hand for making great dance music and loving every second of it as much as we are. Event Review: Ultra Music Festival Weekend Two

Celebrating it’s 15th year anniversary, Ultra Music Festival has grown over the years into one of the world’s most prestigious EDM events. Boasting an impressive 7 stages in the heart of downtown Miami and an eclectic lineup featuring everyone from the superstars like Tiesto to the underground kings like Richie Hawtin and Seth Troxler. With any event of this scale, there are bound to be some problems, but for the most part Ultra did a really good job providing festival goers with the best possible experience. Lines weren’t unbearable, traffic was manageable, water was free, there were plenty of bathrooms, and getting from stage to stage was relatively easy and quick. For the most part, crossover noise between stages was minimized despite a couple unavoidable exceptions. Overall it seemed that Ultra had listened to their fans and did everything they could to make this an incredible experience for all and I think they did an excellent job. Our team went to the second and final weekend. Check out what I had to say about the festival below.
