Special Features, the young London-based producer, has been making his way into the spotlight with his recent hit “You & Me” and an appearance on Walden’s Intropial Remixes album. His newest release with the respected Big Beat Records is “Illusion”, which features an anthemic progressive house build-up and synths galore. If you’re a progressive house fan you’ll definitely want to give this one a look – Special Features may be young but he’s proven to be quite skillful at this whole production thing. Coachella 2013: 15 Electronic acts you can’t miss and why

The final countdown has begun and nothing makes us more antsy than knowing only a few more days of school work stand between us and our unofficial “holiday weekend.”  Last week, the city of Indio granted approval for Goldenvoice to extend their annual music festivals on the polo fields through 2030 and also expand to hold 15,000 more attendees by next year. As loyal Coachella fans rejoice over the news, we couldn’t be more excited to return to the holy land. By now we’re checking off what to pack and who to see, aside from mentally preparing for the heat waves that await us, BUT before we hit the road…we leave you with one more cheat sheet to festival success!

Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, & GTA feat. Wolfpack – Turn It Up (Original Mix)

The Belgian brothers, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, have been on fire this year releasing banger after banger of everything from big room house to hard style in preparation for this years festival circuit which their tunes always seem to dominate. “Turn It Up,” coming off of Tiesto’s Musical Freedom label, is their latest collaboration with GTA and Wolfpack and it, like everything else they produce, is massive. Their distinctly European synthesizer sound is really emphasized in this track as it forms the main melody leading up to the GTA influenced percussion based drop. Then, as the dust begins to settle, the bridge begins to build back the energy with an intense synthesizer chord progression that leads up to an even harder drop as stabbing synths dance in and out of the drums GTA laid down in the first drop. All in all, “Turn It Up” is nothing short of a festival anthem which has seemed to become Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s production of choice since their inception. Enjoy!

Durante – Challenger EP

The four track EP by Durante, recently released by OWSLA, is a fusion of varying tempos and styles. The first track, “Take A Look” is a deeper, smoother track than the rest of the EP. “Radio” is a bit more of an electro-oriented track but Durante can be heard taking the same stylistic approaches on rhythm and synthesis aesthetic on this one as well. The last two tracks, “Challenger” and “Crash”, although slower than the rest of the EP, still retain those house grooves making this a solid EP from up and comer Durante.

Tim Berg – Alcoholic (Cazzette’s Trapleg Remix) [Preview]

cazzetteIt seems these days everyone is taking a stab at producing trap music. Cazzette is no exception to that generalization. The electro duo have taken the track “Alcoholic” by Tim Berg, the artist formally known as Avicii and added a unreal electro trap remix to the song. “Alcoholic” in the Cazzette Trapleg remix begins with a delightfully funky back beat and progresses with intensity and build to include sirens and layers of synths. Then after the tagline lyrics of the song, “Alcoholic” breaks down into some gnarly trap beats that still include the electro influence of Cazzette. The full remix will be out on Leve7s April 19th, be sure to get the entire track when it’s released!
