The final countdown has begun and nothing makes us more antsy than knowing only a few more days of school work stand between us and our unofficial “holiday weekend.”  Last week, the city of Indio granted approval for Goldenvoice to extend their annual music festivals on the polo fields through 2030 and also expand to hold 15,000 more attendees by next year. As loyal Coachella fans rejoice over the news, we couldn’t be more excited to return to the holy land. By now we’re checking off what to pack and who to see, aside from mentally preparing for the heat waves that await us, BUT before we hit the road…we leave you with one more cheat sheet to festival success!

The young Norwegian producer Fehrplay is quickly emerging as one of the most talented new producers at the moment. After gaining the attention of the one and only Eric Prydz, Fehrplay has joined the Pryda friends team and has swiftly taken the roll as the front runner of the label. He has four releases on Pryda friends, has been touring with Prydz, has a highly anticipated upcoming single and there is no sign of Fehrplay putting on the brakes anytime soon. We were lucky enough to catch up with Fehrplay and ask him a few questions, so check out his latest mix and read on to see what Fehrplay is all about. The one and only Eric Prydz is back with another huge Pryda single titled ‘Power Drive’. Following the release his latest two track EP, ‘Bergen/Recomondos’, Prydz takes a darker and bigger approach to ‘Power Drive’. The track has an ominous feel with a creeping topline providing the overtones for a pumping bassline and a dark string harmony. He played this track in both his main stage set and his Cirez D set at Ultra and it had both crowds going wild. Definitely one of the biggest releases so far this year. Enjoy!

There is somewhat of a guarantee associated with his music because he refuses to release anything that he does not believe is the best that it can be. This track is similar is style to those on his massive release, Pryda, and does not disappoint the title as it brings plenty of power along with it. For ‘Let Me Feel’ Jeremy strays from a pounding club ready track and gives us a perfectly crafted emotional track, with a soulful vocal sample of The Isley Brothers ‘Take Me In Your Arms’ and a subtle but driving bass providing the undertones as the melodic topline and leads dance together to create a perfect harmony. Interview: Eric Prydz

There are so many artists in the world of dance music these days, but one of them stands alone. The artist we are talking about is Eric Prydz. Since day one Eric has stayed true to himself, true to his nature and has become an icon by following his own beat instead of others. It doesn’t matter if he’s producing under his real name or one of his other famous aliases like Cirez D or Pryda. At the end of the day, he evokes emotion and tells a story with every production he puts out. Not many people can juggle originality while being in the mainstream scene and he does it with ease. With countless mainstream and underground tracks, the man is known as a musical genius and not only has an extremely large mainstream audience, but a massive underground following as well. Reigning from Sweden and now currently living in Los Angeles, Prydz continues to be known as the king of originality. It was a true honor to interview the man himself and we will remember this one for a very long time to come. Check it out after the jump!

Coming very shortly after his amazing release of ‘I Can’t Stop’, this preview proves that Fehrplay has a lot more up his sleeve. ‘Phantom’ has a very dynamic progressive style that is upbeat and euphoric.
