Interview: Eric Prydz

There are so many artists in the world of dance music these days, but one of them stands alone. The artist we are talking about is Eric Prydz. Since day one Eric has stayed true to himself, true to his nature and has become an icon by following his own beat instead of others. It doesn’t matter if he’s producing under his real name or one of his other famous aliases like Cirez D or Pryda. At the end of the day, he evokes emotion and tells a story with every production he puts out. Not many people can juggle originality while being in the mainstream scene and he does it with ease. With countless mainstream and underground tracks, the man is known as a musical genius and not only has an extremely large mainstream audience, but a massive underground following as well. Reigning from Sweden and now currently living in Los Angeles, Prydz continues to be known as the king of originality. It was a true honor to interview the man himself and we will remember this one for a very long time to come. Check it out after the jump!

Eric Prydz – Pryda Album

Eric Prydz is a legend in the house music world. The Swedish producer has been a staple in the industry for many years now and is known for his countless dance music classics. He is known for his smooth, airy progressive style with euphoric melodies, infectious hooks and creative production. Eric Prydz also produces under a series of aliases, Pryda and Cirez D, yet for a while Mr. Prydz and his aliases have been somewhat quite. He lives in London and tours in Europe but hasn’t been to the US since 2007 (he is afraid of flying), lucky for all of us, Eric Prydz seems to be back in full force.

He announced he will be coming to the US and touring with Identity Festival, he recently released the first installment of his new podcast, but most importantly he has just released his 3 Disc ‘Pryda’ album. This 3 disc, 37 track, masterpiece has been eight years in the making and I must say it was well worth the wait. Each track is perfectly produced, with the classic Pryda progressive style. Despite having that signature Pryda style, each track is very different and unique. The album consists of many new tracks as well as retrospective mixes that feature some his great tracks and edits. So with no further adieu, Pryda. Enjoy!

Coucheron – Feel The Vibe (Original Mix) [Preview]

Up and comer, Sebastian aka Coucheron, releases a teaser to his new track ‘Feel The Vibe’ coming out March 17th. It’s a great upbeat electro house tune with head bobbing vocals that are sure to get you going. Currently residing in Norway, Sebastian is currently dishing out new tracks. I for one can say that I am extremely antsy to hear more of his teasers and new releases with his sound that can be described as a cross between Mord Fustang, Porter Robinson, and Wolfgang Gartner. He has already debuted a few tracks as well as remixed a singles such as DJ Bam Bam’s ‘Keep Movin’, Eric Prydz’s ‘Pjanoo’, and Lights’ ‘Toes’. This kid is definitely fire and will without a doubt be someone you want to keep tabs on because when he gets big, he will be huge, and you will have already known the tracks that marked his beginnings. Check out his music on Soundcloud. You won’t be disappointed!
