Mashups and bootlegs have become a hot commodity in the dance music community over the past few years. They have become a testament of what the producers can do in the studio more so than what they can do behind the decks. Though they often take much of the skill out of mixing, mashups are a great way to blend two or more songs in a harmonious union. The track begins with the beautiful sounds of trance from “Wayfarer” by Audien with the vocal stylings of Matthew Koma layered over it. The song then transitions into vocals from The Killers’ “Miss Atomic Bomb” combined with “Aural Psynapse” by Deadmau5. CHANGE has proven himself to be a master of mashups. “Bomb” is an impressive showcase of his musical talents and ear for combining many tracks into one magnificent song. Well fans, the first weekend of Ultra Music Festival in Miami has come to a close and wow was it an amazing one. I sure hope some of you were either there for the amazing experience or streaming in from your computer via Ultra’s YouTube channel UMFTV. With some of the world’s biggest DJs playing sets throughout the day at different times and stages, it was hard to catch everyone you wanted to see as most festivals go. The wonderful thing about our post here is we have a chance for you to relive the experience through you ears, with some of our favorites from the first weekend. We apologize that some of these aren’t the full sets, but we will update them throughout the week once we get our hands on any full recordings as they arise. Nicky Romero has just given the world a fresh remix he’s done of Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s “Need Your Love.” The best part about March may be March Madness for some, but for music lovers of EDM it’s the approach of the annual Winter Music Conference and Ultra solely because of all the tracks that are released in the process before. Romero has taken the same idea from the original track, using the main synth arpeggio approach, but has made it bigger and more of an anthem song. The release will be off Columbia Records, but stay tuned for a date. Enjoy!

Recently aired on Nicky Romero’s very own Protocol Radio was none other than his highly anticipated track, “Symphonica”. The track has garnered much attention ever since the Dutchman first played it at the legendary Tomorrowland festival in Belgium last summer. The track itself stays true to Nicky’s unique basslines that fuel his drops whilst he incorporates a symphonic progressive that truly demonstrates the young man’s undeniable talent. This track is set to release March 25th just in time for all the massive festivals, so be sure to check back then for more details about the finalized release.
