Preview: Treasure Island Music Festival

San Francisco is starting to get excited about the annual Treasure Island Music Festival, which takes place on October 13th and 14th. The Festival in the Bay is featuring artists such as Porter Robinson, M83, Girl Talk, SBTRKT, Public Enemy, Araabmuzik, Grimes, Youth Lagoon, and many more. With the two day Festival taking place on San Francisco’s very own Treasure Island, we can not wait to enjoy some good music with the view of the city and Golden Gate Bridge in the background. Rock N Roll Reworks: Volume 2

Without further ado, I present to you the second publication of my favorite new weekly, Rock N Roll Reworks, which is our favorite collection of epically reworked anthems from the past. Last week’s article was a great success, and I’d like to thank our Arizona representaive, Jared Levidow, for putting this original idea on the table. Below are six tracks, ranging from house to moombahton to dubstep, all bearing two things in common: love and influence from past rock anthems. Whether the track stems a widely known rock melody or borrows internationally recognized vocals, each remix has been produced with the utmost of creativity. Only a couple of them are available for free download, but feel free to stream as many times as you want below.

Ibiza123 Rocktronic Festival

So Ibiza is definitely the dance music capitol of the world, every summer all of the best DJs and producers in the world come to the small island off the coast of Spain to play the craziest parties at the best clubs in the world. Bacardi has created the Ibiza123 Rocktronic Festival which the lineup is like nothing I have ever seen before. They are bringing some of the world’s best DJ’s together with some rock legends. Sting will be headlining the first night, accompanied  by the likes of Chase and Status, David Guetta, and Tiesto. The second night will be headlined by a Elton John vs PNAU live set, with Steve Angello, Fatboy Slim, and 2ManyDJs and more. The festival will be closed out with Lenny Kravitz and Luciano (live) headlining, following Mr. Blake, Pete Tong and M83 (live) along with many others. I don’t think you could find a lineup like this anywhere else and is sure to be a show for the books. Check out the full line up and more info here.

Wobble Wednesday: Kill Paris – Keep Your Secrets in Midnight City [Free Download]

Los Angeles based up and comer Kill Paris produced quite the gem here, mashing up the massive hits “Keep You Secrets (Myon & Shane 54 Summer of Love Remix)” and M83′s “Midnight City”. I love how he kept the midnight city part very mellow and kept the trancy feel of “Keep You Secrets” on the breakdowns, while making an epic of drop of some fresh dubstep. M83 – Reunion (Mylo Remix) [Preview]

M83 has seen massive recognition for their last album ‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’ along with many great remixes. Here Annie Mac gives us a preview of the Scottish producer Mylo’s remix of ‘Reunion’.
