Wobble Wednesday: Lucky Date – Freak (Sam F Remix) [Free Download]

lucky date - techi

Sam F takes things to the next level with his trap remix of Lucky Date’s extremely successful, “Freak.” The original in itself was amazing just the way it was, but the amount of energy, dirty beats, and drive that Sam F pumps into the track should be on the brink of illicit activity. This rendition of, “Freak” is unlike anything I’ve ever heard as Sam F experiments with the very much straight forward genre of Trap by staying on top of the beat in an almost 90′s hip hop fashion. Don’t let the unfamiliarity of the beat intimidate you though because the freshness of it paired with the fat bass lines and overall feel to the song will have you dancing like you never have before. As if things couldn’t get any better, the remix is available for free download below! Enjoy yourselves with this one, ladies and gents.

Hardwell feat. Amba Shepherd – Apollo (Lucky Date Remix) [Preview]

artworks-000043626420-o0xle2-original

Hardwell’s hit “Apollo” has just gotten the Lucky Date makeover and it’s definitely a keeper. Although the beginning sounds almost identical to the original, patience is a virtue. With a build up that you know is going to bring you to a far off land, the track drops major heat with a laser sounding synth over hard beats that can almost be mistaken for any top artist today. The track will be released tomorrow on Beatport, March 25th, off Revealed Recordings, so in the meantime enjoy this clip. Cheers!

Lucky Date – Freak (Original Mix)

One of the most underrated and often overlooked artists, Lucky Date, is back with another new single titled “Freak.” A prominent force in the electro genre, the young producer is able to provide a consistent stream of distinguishable hard-hitting tracks, all while maintaining an element of variability. This newest release stays true to the typical Lucky Date style: a tense, in-your-face meld of high pitch whines and grinding saw synths that keeps a high energy from beginning to end. Definitely a classifiable “banger.” Make sure to head over to Beatport and show your support by picking up a copy.

Zedd & Lucky Date – Fall Into The Sky Feat. Ellie Goulding (Extended Mix)

Zedd’s new album Clarity has been causing a commotion among all connoisseurs of electronic music. Released on Tuesday is this extended mix of “Fall Into the Sky” featuring the talents of Lucky Date and Ellie Goulding. The track hooks you immediately with a wonky build and then transfers into a massive electro drop. Ellie Goulding provides an interesting compliment to the grime of Zedd and Lucky Date with her angelic voice. However, the soothing vocals are short lived before the filth smacks you in the face again. This is a fantastic collaboration of electro house beats with pop vocals. Ellie may have built a career for herself as a solo artist, but we can only hope for more killer collaborations with her and other electronic producers in the near future.

‘Alive’ by Dirty South & Thomas Gold has proved itself as a true anthem, and Lucky Date’s brand new bootleg to the original track seems to revamp its newer vibe. The bootleg beautifully builds into a funky beat that drops into a groovy ballroom dance type track. Lucky Date was kind enough release the track for free, so be sure to download your copy below. Featured Artist: BioBlitZ

France based DJ, BioBlitZ was spotted back in 2008 in a production competition that he won. Since then, his career has rocketed and he has been recording under renowned labels such as BugEyed, Plasmapool, and Boxon. His style sounds like a cross between Wolfgang, Skrillex, and Porter, but his remixes are so incredibly crisp that his dirty electro tunes are sure to make you turn those speakers up. Be sure to check out more of his singles on Beatport!

Dim Mak Studios w/ Lazy Rich & Lucky Date

This coming November 8th two rising stars will be bringing their talents to Los Angeles – Lazy Rich & Lucky Date. Lazy Rich came out of nowhere last year after the release of his huge single, “Better Wipe That Up”. He has continued to grow as a DJ/Producer and is the founder of Big Fish Recordings. Signed under that very record label is none other than Lucky Date. I first heard Lucky Date about a year ago from his remix of “Dub Disco” by Spencer & Hill and it’s absolutely filthy. His sound is truly unique and incorporates elements from virtually every genre within EDM. Both these guys are sure to put on a killer show fueled by Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Studios. One of our very own members will be attending the show and will be bringing home backstage photos as well as an artist interview so be sure to check back. Songs from both Lazy Rich and Lucky Date are available below so check em out. Tickets are only $10 so you really have no excuse not to go. They are available for purchase here.
