893021_424508074310456_592162534_o

Every now and then an artist comes around that captivates you with every sound he releases and every audience he touches and even more rarely do they come in packs of three. Since 2008, the trio reigning from Stockholm, Sweden has captured our hearts with every pounding anthem, allowing us to turn off our minds and turn on our hearts to a new movement of electronic music that brings people together. Through their continuous success of chart topping progressive house releases to record breaking sold out shows from Madison Square Garden to the Los Angeles Historic Park, the Swedish House Mafia have announced their split but have managed to leave us with one more unforgettable experience to say goodbye to their loyal fans. Interview: Eric Prydz

There are so many artists in the world of dance music these days, but one of them stands alone. The artist we are talking about is Eric Prydz. Since day one Eric has stayed true to himself, true to his nature and has become an icon by following his own beat instead of others. It doesn’t matter if he’s producing under his real name or one of his other famous aliases like Cirez D or Pryda. At the end of the day, he evokes emotion and tells a story with every production he puts out. Not many people can juggle originality while being in the mainstream scene and he does it with ease. With countless mainstream and underground tracks, the man is known as a musical genius and not only has an extremely large mainstream audience, but a massive underground following as well. Reigning from Sweden and now currently living in Los Angeles, Prydz continues to be known as the king of originality. It was a true honor to interview the man himself and we will remember this one for a very long time to come. Check it out after the jump!

Review: Dirtybird Takeover – Avalon Hollywood

Last Friday, February 15th, the cult-like following of the record label Dirtybird shuffled into the doors of the Avalon Hollywood to see the great Dirtybird Players, Worthy, J. Phlip, and Justin Martin. From the moment I walked in, I immediately knew that this night would be one to remember. The Dirtybird crew brings an energy of their own and has some of the most committed, eager and heart-filled following that make kids with Bieber fever look neglectful of their teenybopper idol. People were driving form everywhere Northern California, Arizona, and Nevada just to see these world renowned DJs play. Security guards were repeatedly saying, this is going to be a good night”, and you could see that everyone in the place was thinking the same thing.

Sweet Tooth, the brand new duo hailing from Los Angeles, didn’t take too long to prove why they are the real deal. With the official releases to their debut tracks, “Spiderwebs (Something Real)” & “Old Money”, Sweet Tooth have already gained attention and support from German media powerhouse Plasmapool. This tandem have successfully intertwined and merged the sounds of electro and progressive house together, creating a very upbeat and melodic sound. It’s time to remember this name and become familiar with these marvelous productions as we will all have a sweet tooth soon enough for, Sweet Tooth. If this is only the beginning, the future looks extremely promising for this LA duo.

Pryda – Bergen/Recomondos EP

This year it seems that the king of progressive house, Eric Prydz, has decided to come of out hiding and share his unbelievable music with us again. With the release of his incredible triple disc album, his first US tour in several years, and coming off his latest club smashing, ‘Everyday’, we have the latest Pryda release. A two track EP, ‘Bergren/Recomondos’, is a perfect showcasing of that unique Pryda sound. Both tracks are silky smooth, incredibly dynamic and produced with a quality matched by very few, yet each bring a totally different and amazing vibe. But you can never truly describe a Pryda track so just take a listen for yourself and enjoy. On a side note, there is a rumor going around that Mr. Prydz is moving to the states (possibly LA) so hopefully all of us eager American fans will be seeing a lot more of him.
