Summer Set Music Festival To Bring Top Tier Lineup To The Midwest

Last summer was the first year that React, Majestic and Sound in Motion teamed up to bring us Summer Set Music and Camping Festival held in Somerset, Wisconsin just a short drive from Minneapolis.   Those three companies are teaming up again for Summer Set 2013.  The Lineup recently dropped and it is a pretty eclectic group of artists. There are four headliners: Passion Pit, Girl Talk, STS9 and a returning headliner from last year, Big Gigantic. The remainder of the lineup boasts artists and sounds mainly hosting the likes of EDM, live bands and hip hop. Personally I am really excited to see Alex Metric, Kill Paris, Madeon, SBTRKT, Tommy Trash and Zedd. Matador Music Festival

Coming up on April 27th, Santa Barbara will be hosting a fair, expo and music festival. Attendees will get a whopping 10 hours of music by acts like Porter Robinson, Seven Lions and many more. Along with the music festival, a general admission ticket gets you into the fair full of over 30 carnival rides, awesome food, a zoo and more. Lightning In A Bottle Line Up Announced

With festival season in full swing, the people who bring you Lightning in a Bottle have officially released the upcoming acts. One of the amazing aspects of this event, located in Temecula, CA, is that it gives listeners and electronic music lovers a chance to hear the up and coming, the new and the fresh. Not only is it a festival filled with talented locals (and world renowned DJs), but LIB promotes sustainability and the artistic and creative mind. Here’s a fun fact: LIB has won 3 years in a row for Outstanding Greener Festival Award. This is a festival truly about loving your community, the world in which we live, the art we see and hear, and the experiences we share with people. If you haven’t ventured before, call up your friends and head straight for SoCal! Some artists causing quite a bit of excitement are Joel Mull, Nicolas Jaar, Papadosio, Christian Martin and more. David Solano has teamed up with the one and only R3hab for the official anthem of the Life In Color Rebirth Tour. This big room electro house masterpiece, titled “Do It”, has already gained lots of recognition from big name DJs such as David Guetta, Thomas Gold, Swanky Tunes, Sander van Doorn, Dada Life, and more. This track was written to be in sync with the production of the touring festival, guaranteed to reach thousands of people each show. There is no doubt that “Do It”, along with the help of the Life In Color Rebirth Tour, will become a huge hit to be played at festivals and clubs for months to come.

Event Review: Ultra Music Festival Weekend Two

Celebrating it’s 15th year anniversary, Ultra Music Festival has grown over the years into one of the world’s most prestigious EDM events. Boasting an impressive 7 stages in the heart of downtown Miami and an eclectic lineup featuring everyone from the superstars like Tiesto to the underground kings like Richie Hawtin and Seth Troxler. With any event of this scale, there are bound to be some problems, but for the most part Ultra did a really good job providing festival goers with the best possible experience. Lines weren’t unbearable, traffic was manageable, water was free, there were plenty of bathrooms, and getting from stage to stage was relatively easy and quick. For the most part, crossover noise between stages was minimized despite a couple unavoidable exceptions. Overall it seemed that Ultra had listened to their fans and did everything they could to make this an incredible experience for all and I think they did an excellent job. Well fans, the first weekend of Ultra Music Festival in Miami has come to a close and wow was it an amazing one. I sure hope some of you were either there for the amazing experience or streaming in from your computer via Ultra’s YouTube channel UMFTV. With some of the world’s biggest DJs playing sets throughout the day at different times and stages, it was hard to catch everyone you wanted to see as most festivals go. The wonderful thing about our post here is we have a chance for you to relive the experience through you ears, with some of our favorites from the first weekend. We apologize that some of these aren’t the full sets, but we will update them throughout the week once we get our hands on any full recordings as they arise. MOX TV Online Music Video Channel

MOX TV is a brand new music video channel that lets you get the coverage on events and artists that you want to see. MOX TV is officially being released during Ultra Music Festival and the Winter Music Conference. With so many acts and so little time to see them, MOX TV is being released just when we need it. Now none of us will need to be rushing between stages and arguing with our buddies about which artists we want to see more.

MOX TV will also be hosting the MOX Bus—a dance party on wheels, complete with an open bar and world-class DJ crews. The bus can be seen cruising through the streets of South Beach, Downtown, and more. The MOX Bus will also be hosting daily takeovers from Revealed, Dirtybird, Anjunabeats, 1605 Music Therapy, and SMOG.

Carter Laren, Co-Founder of MOX TV has said, “We’ve chosen to work with these and other artists featured on MOX because we believe they represent the future of music, and we’ve chosen to launch in Miami during Ultra and WMC because of the sheer volume of talent and unbridled fan enthusiasm you experience when you’re there. Like most people in Miami that week, we won’t be sleeping much.” What differentiates MOX from other media outlets, Laren emphasizes, is its television-style presentation. “We’re not just another a dressed-up blog. I like to say that we’re what MTV would be if they launched in 2013. And if they played music.”

Ultra Music Festival 2013 Compilation [Preview]

Ultra Music will be releasing an incredible compilation featuring the biggest and best tracks from a wide range of incredible EDM artists. The compilation album will feature tracks from David Guetta, Above & Beyond, Calvin Harris, Avicii, Afrojack, Deadmau5, Tiesto and many more. The album features several Ultra Music Festival Anthems including the previously released ‘United’ by Tiesto, Quintino and Alvaro and ‘Air Guitar’ by Afrojack as well as the unreleased ‘UMF’ by Avicii. The digital version is set to release on March 19th and the physical copy on April 2nd so be sure to check back then. You can check out the track like below.

Richie Hawtin And Deadmau5 To Perform Together At SXSW

Some incredible news just in from Mixmag, techno legend Richie Hawtin will be playing a very special back to back set with none other than Deadmau5 at the interactive closing party. The two have previously have announced that they will be holding a conference together at the festival. Apparently this will be a stripped back techno set that is scheduled to occur on March 12th at Stubbs BBQ. If you are attending SWSX this is where you want to be as this is sure to be an incredible show put on by two of the best in the game.
