Clockwork & Felix Cartal feat. Madame Buttons – The Fire (Original Mix)

the fireTwo of my favorite producers of all time have finally come together for a collaboration! Along with Madame Buttons on the vocals, Clockwork and Felix Cartal lend their amazing electro house skills to create “The Fire”, out now through Dim Mak Records. The track begins with a deep beat, and then adds in a low bassline with fun synths. Madame Buttons comes in shortly after, signing a beautiful song to compliment the upbeat dance feel. Then in the classic style of gnarly electro, her voice fades as the track builds and breaks into a killer drop that put a huge smile on my face. Collaborations are great for the fact that two or more producers can showcase their talents in one vessel, however I think that many times one producer’s sound dominates the creation. “The Fire” is unique for the opposite reason; Clockwork and Felix Cartal have seamlessly melded their talents into one, cohesive sound that balances their musical personalities. Listen for yourself, you do NOT want to be left out of “The Fire”.

Felix Cartal & Autoerotique – The Alarm (Original Mix)

Autoerotique and Felix Cartal give us the literal definition of what a banger is with “The Alarm,” just released today off of Aoki’s Dim Mak Records. The single begins with wailing pitches that resemble the timbre of a siren or an alarm going off foreshadowing the madness that is about to ensue. As the build up continues to climb, some resemblance to a melody begins to appear but then quickly disappears as the drop finally decides to arrive. A massive bass beat accompanied by stabbing synthesizers, rising pitches, and a perfectly executed pauses make for a highly successful formula for raging. Some depth to the track appears in the form of a calming synthesizer melody that gradually builds itself back up to the hype of the song. Prepare yourself to hear “The Alarm” wreaking havoc in a club or venue near you and don’t forget to pick up your very own copy of it on Beatport!

Felix Cartal & Natalie Angiuli – Lullaby [Free Download]

Felix Cartal’s new track “Lullaby” is charming, emotional, and as Felix himself desribes “less aggressive”.  The track reminds me of old school Kaskade so I’m immediately sentimental to the vocals and synths that create such a song. Felix is able to form a house track without doing too much and without doing too little, steering the song away from typical mainstream and making it seem like unique is easy. This catchy track isn’t the only the duo worked on, so keep an eye out for new Felix Cartal and grab a free download today!

Sound Wave Music Festival: Official Recap

After a quick two hour drive up from the University of Arizona to Tempe, AZ, we were lucky enough to cover Soundwave Music Festival, brought to us from none other than Steve LeVine Entertainment & Public Relations (SLE). Our night began around 9pm, and the first performer we saw was young electro prodigy, Felix Cartal. Felix took the Red Bull stage by storm and began playing some of trippiest, catchiest, and most groovy electro I’ve heard in quite some time. At this particular stage, Red Bull had set up mirrors above the decks, showing the crowd the hands of the DJ. I was blown away at his mixing skills at such a young age, and was very grateful for the unique opportunity to truly spy on the actions of the current performer. Further into his set, Felix began dropping some heavy electro house. One significantly celebrated track was Botnek’s remix to ‘Tonight’, which features high pitch female vocals and one hell of a drop. [Read more...]

Felix Cartal (Autoerotique Remix) vs. The Bloody Beetroots (Gigi Borroco Remix) – Tonight RockSteady! (PeaceTreaty Booty) [Free Download]

‘Tonight Rockstead!’, Peacetreaty’s brand new bootleg uses two great remixes from Autoerotique and Gigi Borroco and beautifully fuses the melodies into one strong electro mix. The original tracks are from Felix Cartal and The Bloody Beetroots, but have been given a quaint little makeover. Bootlegs are always a DJs best friend, and they’re even better when they’re free- all you have to do is like a quick Facebook page. N-Joy.

Tiesto & Steve Aoki – Tornado (Remixes)

Nearly a year after two of the biggest names in EDM came together to create the fast-paced whirlwind of a production titled, “Tornado”, we have three new renditions to bring this song back to life. Dim Mak has officially released this long-coming remix package featuring Kill The Noise, Felix Cartal, & Angerr Dimas. In spirit of Wobble Wednesday we will focus on the mind boggling remix by Kill the Noise, which happens to be my favorite of the three. Staying true to his signature sound, he brings you on a ride with a majestic build-up that leads you straight into one of the most perfectly executed drops I’ve ever heard. Kill the Noise brings in the prominent vocals of Polina to accentuate this electronic masterpiece. We also have the official music video for Tornado after the break which includes cameos from Michael Trevino, Omar Doom, Tiernan Cowling and of course Tiesto & Steve Aoki. Enjoy the ride through the electric tornado on Planet Tiesto!

Electric Daisy Carnival 2012 Las Vegas: Official Recap

Simply put, this weekend was UNREAL. It began Thursday morning with a five-hour excursion from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, stopping only once for our precious In-N-Out. After finally touching down at our suite at the Mandalay Bay, we made it down the strip to the Hardrock Hotel to meet up with the rest of the Techi Team. What then ensued could only be described as a night of complete debauchery, leading into the next morning ready to head back to Mandalay Bay, where our good friends Gregory Sills and Peter Sims, together known as Fista Cuffs, played the topless pool party. Now that the darkness was approaching, it was time to call the limo and make our way to the main event – the one and only Electric Daisy Carnival, Las Vegas. Continue on for a day by day recap of everything that went down at the Motorspeedway on this legendary weekend…
