ShockOne – Universus (Album)

Destroying Beatport’s drum & bass, dubstep, and electro house charts this week, we have ShockOne’s viciously diverse new album dubbed, Universus, on Viper Recordings. Featuring his high tempo, signature sounds and a small remedy of bass heavy collaborations, we’re excited to see this Australian producer’s potential fully blossom with a sever influx of harmonic melodies and cosmic vocal samples. Collaborators within the album include Phetstsa, Reija Lee, Metrik, Kyza, and Sam Nafie. Flashback Friday: Arty & Misha Kitone – Inside Of Me (Original Mix)

Today’s Flashback Friday tune is a track that I always listen back to, keeping it on all of my music listening devices because it is that good every time I hit play. Around the beginning of 2009 is right when I started to get into melodic progressive house, which is when this tune was released, and the young producer by the name of Arty caught my ear. His older production style when he was ~17 years old was exactly what I wanted to hear from progressive house and it is displayed beautifully in this track here. “Inside Of Me” is a simple, captivating song that takes control of you with the symphonic and keyboard melodies throughout. It’s amazing to think where Arty was in his career when he produced this gem and look at where he is now – a complete breakthrough artist that found success and has changed his production style drastically. Tuesday Trance Report: 110

Trance family around the world, welcome back to the 10th installment of our beloved Tuesday Trance Report. These past few weeks we’ve tried a different format of presenting our favorite high bpm melodies, but we’ve found that classic works best. So, without further ado, I hope you enjoy these tunes as much as all of us here in the Techifam. Leading off we’re blessed with a free “rebuild” from Andrew Rayel titled ‘If I Lose My Space BOOM’. If you’ve been keeping up with Rayel, you know he’s been hitting 2013 with quite the splash as one of this year’s most promising up and comers. Next up, Ashley Wallbridge’s ‘Ying Yang’ has finally released to Gareth Emery’s record label, Garuda Music. Showing some similarities to his collaboration with Gareth himself on their classic track, ‘Mansion’, we can always expect a great piece of work from Mr. Wallbridge. Richard Durand then takes the spotlight with his minimalistic trance build in ‘TranceMatic’, which eventually builds into a beautiful, high energy synth melody. Then, on Armada sub label, A State of Trance, we have the 138 bpm madness of Sebastian Brandt’s ‘Paragon’. Last but not least, Store N Forward feature Hannah Ray’s emotional vocals on their latest original mix, ‘Hero’. Armin van Buuren feat. Trevor Guthrie – This Is What It Feels Like

Released today, “This Is What It Feels Like” is Armin van Buuren’s first official single of his fifth studio album. The album, Intense, will be released May 3rd after years of production perfecting. Armin maintains an upbeat and emotional mix with the help of vocalist Trevor Guthrie. While it may be a rather simple trance track, the sounds are blended and mixed perfectly with the track maintaining a small and emotional breakdown to a drop containing that and so much more. Along with the release is an official W&W remix again featuring the amazing vocals of Guthrie, but it’s the drop of this remix that really makes this track an innovative and hard hitting progressive beat. Wolfgang Gartner feat. Medina – Overdose (Extended Club Mix)

The latest release off Ultra Records is from none other than Wolfgang Gartner. Known for his complextro tracks and epic live sets, Wolfgang’s new track featuring Medina on vocals is just what we can expect from the ‘boss’ himself. “Overdose” is a bit more mellow than most Wolfgang electro house tracks, having some beautiful singing from Medina and lower energy drops. However, the song still includes some of those harder elements that we’ve become used to in all of his tracks, as well as some skeptical lyrics that reference overdosing (OD) on drugs. Vicetone & Jonny Rose – Stars (Original Mix)

You’ve heard it almost every weekend, but the love for Vicetone will not stop. Their new release “Stars” only expands and brings more truth to this sentiment. The release is a standard progressive house track, but the vocals from Jonny Rose, the melody within the track, and the ways in which the melody is portrayed throughout the track make this song another banger under the Dutch duo’s belt. Only 20 years old, these guys are finally catching the attention of dance music lovers everywhere. Hopefully, fans will still get the occasional free download… cross your fingers! Rudimental ft. John Newman – Feel The Love (Kill Paris Remix)

As a music fan, there is nothing more satisfying than clicking play for the first time and absolutely falling in love with a track. With the latest Kill Paris remix, “Feel the Love”, it’s been on constant repeat for me and I can certainly “Feel the Love” on this one. Corey Baker a.k.a Kill Paris has won my ear drums over time and time again with his absolutely impeccable remixes and original mixes that showcase a perfect hybrid of dubstep/glitch/funk/babymaking music. This track fully supports that statement with it’s tranquil intro that flawlessly builds up around the Rudimental & John Newman vocals into a drop that seemingly pops around it’s catchy hook and big welcoming bass. Tuesday Trance Report – 109

Trance family around the world, welcome to the ninth edition of our beloved TTR. This week we kick off with ‘Aldo’, a beautiful original mix from Huntington Beach natives, Norin & Rad, on Above & Beyond’s ever so respected Anjunabeats record label. Next we have the extremely uplifting club mix to Dankann and Antillas’ ‘When You Love Someone’, which features the euphoric vocals of singer, Laurell. Up next we have some great synth play in Ronski Speed and Dennis Sheperd’s new original, ‘Karoshi’, as well as some great progression in Protoculture’s ‘Laguna’. Last but not least, we have ‘Sky High’, a great uplifting track from Vintage & Morelli.

Following our favorite releases of the week, we’ve included each set from A State of Trance 600 in Beirut, Lebanon which took place just a few days ago on March 9. However, one performance stood out to us, the rest of the world, and Armin van Buuren himself as he�referred�to it as simply “underestimated”.�Marlo Hoogstraten, better known as MarLo, took the bull by the horns this past Saturday and delivered an unbelievable, high energy set. MarLo, who flew all the way from Australia, is recently buzzing off his recent hit ‘Boom’ on the A State of Trance 2013 compilation album, which many have dubbed the unofficial anthem to ASOT 600.
