What really makes Tiesto such a spectacular artist is his ability to reinvent himself over and over again to not only fit the times, but to define them. His newest single off of his highly anticipated Tiesto’s Club Life Vol. 3: Stockholm, “Take Me,” features Kyler England from the indie rock band The Rescues. This track has that signature Tiesto big room sound which is epic beyond proportion when coupled with Ms. England’s amazing vocals. To state the track is catchy is an understatement, yet it is not cheesy by any means as Tiesto keeps us on our toes with his fantastic synthesized melodies, massively bass driven beats, and a plethora of new electronica sounds which give the single the distinction it deserves. Andrew Bayer’s album If It Were You, We’d Never Leave just dropped today, and it was well worth the wait; for fans of mesmerizing, ethereal electronica and powerful, head-nodding beats, this album will satisfy with its 16 quality tracks (17 if you count the iTunes bonus track). Bayer isn’t an easy artist to categorize – his tracks more visual and exploratory than a lot of the drop- and chord-focused offerings that have largely taken over the electronic music scene here in America – but some core elements of his work include a rich, textured sound, layers of beautiful melodies, and an occasional funkiness. Take a listen to a selection of tracks below, and definitely check out the full release (I’d recommend the iTunes version, which is cheaper and comes with a bonus track).

Rudimental – Waiting All Night EP

While the Disclosure brothers have been bringing house music back to the forefront of the UK music scene, the Rudimental quartet has been looking to do the same with drum & bass; the group’s single “Feel The Love” topped the charts in the UK and drew a lot of attention earlier this year. With the group gearing up to release their debut album Home on the 29th, they’ve released yet another EP. “Waiting All Night”, Home’s third single, is truly a pleasure for drum & bass fans, featuring the intense, fast breaks and soulful vocals that we’ve come to love from Rudimental. Despite my obsession with the group’s drum & bass, this EP showcases that they are quite willing to defy categorization; “Baby” pulls off a groovy, soulful house surprisingly well, and the remixes included on the EP definitely aren’t the standard fare. A nice surprise is Skream’s remix of “Hell Could Freeze”, which really showcases the artist’s shift from his old dubstep days into the house and disco styles; the remix is a lot of fun with its uplifting, funky sounds and earning the support of a veteran such as Skream is no small feat. We’ve included a selection of tracks below so check them out, and keep your eyes open for the album later on this month!

Andrew Bayer has released another track from his upcoming album If It Were You, We’d Never Leave, and it continues to showcase his masterful skill in mixing genres and creating beautiful, textured pieces. “Lose Sight” is a track that combines bumping hip hop beats with folksy guitar samples and upbeat piano melodies. As the song takes a moment to slow down and the blissful, otherworldly vocals start to creep in this track will truly send some chills down your spine. Take a listen to it below and also check out the excellent Ghosting Season remix of the track, which features a more minimalistic take on beats and layers of echoing electronics. Oliver – Mechanical EP

Oliver’s Mechanical EP, released today by Fool’s Gold Records, is a welcome surprise; the EP  showcases the duo’s skill with energetic, funky house as well as slower, soulful grooves. “MYB” and “Control” draw quite a bit from the French scene – reminding listeners of Justice and Daft Punk with exaggerated synths, cheerful vocals, and heavy, funk-drenched beats. Meanwhile, “Night Is On My Mind” slows things down with late-night deep house sounds, and “Mechanical” brings in some blissful, synthpop-inspired electronica with layers of beautiful melodies. Oliver has definitely caught our eye with this very well-done, adventurous EP and we’re hoping that the duo keeps the material coming. DeSmet, an inspiring collaboration between two brothers, Tate and Grayson DeSmet (21 and 16 years old respectively), continues to provide the utmost of relaxing and ambient melodies with a heavy indie influence and the perfect dash of shy electronica. The Virginia Beach natives spend their limited time together in the studio, as Tate spends most of his year on the West coast studying music at the University of Arizona. Today, however, we are given the Cavu EP, a brilliant combination of recovery melodies perfect for any homework session, relaxing kick back, or any mellow environment. I’ve heard NYC

‘s Chris Mlinchak’s “So Good To Me” remixed during a set, or on a few radio shows, but not the full original song. It’s a mellow electronic track, but the mixing of the snaps, background vocals and synths definitely make for a good listen. The old school feel this song brings is hard to come by, especially at the rate artists are releasing tracks these days. It may be a little different Techi fans, but definitely worth the listen!

This track has received tons of support from fans and artists alike over the past year due to its amazing production quality and listening feel. With soothing violins, keys, and various glitch elements, this electronica track proves Andrew Bayer’s true talents as a whole. This release also includes a new interpretation by Ryan Davis that is quite unique and up to par with Bayer’s original.
