Wobble Wednesday: Zeds Dead – Jambalaya Mix [Free Download]

jambalaya

This Memorial Day Weekend is going to be absolutely insane with all of the amazing concerts and festivals going on and Texas shall be no exception to the trend. Scoremore Presents is putting on Jambalaya: a three day tour through all of Texas’ major cities featuring performances by Zeds Dead, Earl Wolf aka Tyler The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt, Big Boi, Araabmuzik, RL Grime, and G Eazy. Needless to say Jambalaya is going to pop off and this Jambalaya Mix that Zeds Dead made to build up hype for it is the only proof you need. These guys are nuts behind the decks as they manage to incorporate each and every artist set to play Jambalaya within their short mix as well as an amalgamation of the trillest trap, the dubbiest dub, and the sickest of rap songs. Whether you’ll be attending Jambalaya or not, this mix should definitely be on your playlist as you prepare yourself for this weekend’s Memorial Day festivities.

Bass heads, we’ve found the mother ship! The notorious UK based Circus Records and my favorite record label of them all has unveiled the ultimate jackpot. This 26 track colossal album features originals, VIP’s, remixes and even a bonus track compiled by the masterminds behind Circus Records. Most notably are Doctor P and Flux Pavilion, but you can’t forget about their heavy artillery support from: Brown & Gammon, Roksonix, Cookie Monsta, FuntCase, The McMash Clan, Mizuki and Slum Dogz. This album is every bass heads dream as it displays sounds that span the entire bass driven genres. Some of the songs are classics which have been freshly re-mastered, and most of the songs are being premiered for their first time. One thing I can say is from song 1 to song 26, you are in for quite the treat and can find this impeccable track list after the jump. Enjoy the album’s minimix below and grab the full album through the iTunes link provided below. Cheers!

Wobble Wednesday: Cookie Monsta ft. Flux Pavilion – Come Find Me (Original Mix)

Well, I think it’s safe to say this could be the best dubstep track to surface in quite a long time. Whenever you see a release from the notorious Circus Records, you should immediately prepare for an absolute smashing tune packed with emotion, heavy bass modulation, and that classic UK sound. This track emulates that to a tee and Cookie Monsta & Flux Pavilion have come together to deliver just that and so much more. The vocal sample of “Come Find Me” is integrated into a track that is lead by a whisping melody, an intricate drum pattern and a drop that will have you begging for more. It’s so distinct to hear where Flux & Cookie each took the lead and added their own special spice to turn this tune into a full proof banger. Have a listen for yourself and get ready because the Circus Two album is set to drop May 13th, with this track and 24 other quality compositions from the UK based Circus Records.

Skrillex Interview with Jeff Rosenthal at IMS

The first International Music Summit: Engage occurred almost a month ago on April 17th in Hollywood, California. Jeff Rosenthal interviewed Skrillex during the event and shed light on the producer’s musical history, music rights, previous musical engagements, and everything in between. In a surprisingly intelligent and informative interview, Skrillex gives insight into many factors within his progression into electronic music. The interview is lengthy, but is a really great conversation between Jeff and Sonny and their careers in music production.

Excision Presents THE EXECUTIONER: Coachella After-Movie

It’s not often you see a stage setup included with the artists name on a lineup. However, for Coachella 2013, not only was the name Excision accompanied by presents the Executioner, but The Executioner was in even bigger writing. Being a DJ is no longer just about playing music, it’s about your image. How you express yourself on social media, the originality in your live show, how many side projects you have, and clearly your stage setup. Coachella 2010 we saw the unveiling of DeadMau5′s cube as well as his new head and that was certainly a spectacle that started a new trend. As the accessibility to DJ and studio equipment becomes so easy, DJ’s are forced to push the boundaries and open up new hemispheres every day. While The Executioner accompanied by 100,000 watts of bass could certainly be the most remarkable and extreme set up to date, it only leaves me with one question: What does the future behold? I guess only time will tell, but for now, enjoy the official Coachella After-Movie of Excision & his Executioner setup.

Realboy – Cable Basics EP

Realboy, the robotic funk master, has come to us with his most recent release, fresh off the press of Temple Music Group. Austen Jacobsen electrifies our ears with a work worthy of being swooned over, titled Cable Basics —— a multi-genred four track EP. Although this is his first official release, it is quite promising; Cable Basics features some of Realboy’s most unique sounding tunes to date. Half of the songs, one of which includes live instrumentation and vocals, were recorded in merely a couple of days, giving a sample of Realboy’s polished finesse. Check out the whole EP for a trip into Realboy’s surreal tunage.

If you’ve never heard of UK’s four piece live bass driven band, MODESTEP, then it’s time to get outside. These guys have been re innovating the art of a live performance and have flawlessly incorporated the classic genre of rock/ heavy metal with the evolving genres of bass music. They have already made their mark on the rest of the world and just finished providing a one of a kind live set with their debut North American headlining tour that ended last week in Coachella. With the major success and positive reaction from this tour, they have graciously provided a three song EP titled, “Inside My Head”. This EP is filled with emotion in the three tracks, one which is a collaboration with Teddy Killerz and the vocals of Ghetts fittingly titled, “Inside My Head”. “Prevolution” is the second track on the EP which showcases their superior musical and production talent that results in a relaxing and beautiful composition. The third song of this EP was the highly anticipated remix of Ryan Keen’s “All This Time” which could possibly take the cake as one of the best MODESTEP songs to date. Listen for yourself and make sure to check MODESTEP out as they make their way around the summer festival circuit.

Wobble Wednesday: Skrillex ft. Damian Marley – Make It Bun Dem (MONSTA Bootleg) [Free Download]

artworks-000046224408-1apsf5-t500x500

Last year there was an epidemic of “Make it Bun Dem” remixes that resulted in one of the largest Beatport remix contests to ever be held. As we’ve seen this song dissected and transformed into every way, it’s understandable to be skeptical upon seeing yet another remix of this track. However, fellow OWSLA members, MONSTA, have given this track a whole new light and completely enhanced the familiar stems in all the right ways while still establishing their own sound. The UK trio embellished this track by morphing it into a fast paced, bass slamming track that would fall under the future of bass music in this new “trapstep” movement. Legendary tune, monumental remix and a free download, happy days!
