While James Blake is a capable singer he is also an expert behind the controls, producing beautiful electronic tracks that transcend genre. Although he started off drawing much from the atmospheric UK dubstep style (think Burial and other similar artists), his new release is much more experimental and impossible to categorize so neatly – it’s lush, melodic, and draws you into a different world with layers of sounds. Avicii & Nicky Romero’s latest track ‘I Could Be The One’ has seen massive success reaching number 1 in the UK on iTunes and Beatport. Today we have some awesome remixes of the huge progressive original from John Christian, Dank, and Bent Collective. Dank brings a hard hitting electro aspect to the song that is to sure see some love from the bass heads. John Christian shows some serious talent with his take as he gives us a complex and technically savvy take on the track that brings a high energy feel the original. Bent Collective’s remix is my personal favorite with a very club ready, rhythmically driving track that has a totally different feel from the original but perfectly incorporates just enough of the original. Pierce Fulton may be twenty years old, but he is a respected force in the electronic music world. The young American producer has taken Steve Aoki’s track “Come With Me (Deadmeat)” and remixed it into progressive gold. The original track has a lighter feel and more poppy sounds, Fulton surely has transformed it into something even greater. Skrillex – Leaving EP

Skrillex has just released a brand new 3 track EP titled ‘Leaving’ and it definitely has a different feel than some of his other stuff. On the track ‘Leaving’ he strays away from grinding basslines and screaming stabs and gives us a more chilled out electronica/breaks track. ‘The Reason’ is a very dynamic electro track that has one foot on the darker end with the other maintaing a very melodic element. Sonny doesn’t totally abandon the unique, glitchy, bass heavy sound that he has pioneered, with ‘Scary Bolly Dub’ we still get a heavy dubstep banger with several elements that are extracted seemingly straight from some of his previous tracks. As always, Armada is coming in hot with a fresh new remix package

for Christian Burns, Paul Oakenfold, and Jes’ ‘As We Collide’. The remixes, produced by Orjan Nilsen, Andy Caldwell, and Jesse Voorn, each protrude with an extremely unique take on the original track, while remaining relevant with the use of overlaying the emotionally catchy vocals. Though only Nilsen’s track is officially classified as trance, the two progressive house interpretations can be similarly played in any progressive or trance set. Above & Beyond feat. Zoe Johnston – Alchemy (The Remixes)

Just recently, Above & Beyond’s club mix to, ‘Alchemy’, their very own track with iconic female vocalist, Zoe Johnston, shocked the trance community as one of the most emotional pieces of work that not only the group has ever produced, but that anyone has ever produced to date. Still sitting at #2 on the Beatport trance charts, the mix is proving to withstand the test of time, and will continue to flow the cues of trance sets around the globe for a respectful period of time. Just yesterday, however, we were blessed with a couple official remixes to the track which provide some different takes on musical emotion. The first remix from Hungarian duo, Myon & Shane 54, gives us a similarly emotional, beautifully produced trance remix that they call their ‘Redemption Mix’. Vastly differing from both the original club and redemption mix, Submerse’s take on the track gives it an all new vibe with some mellower wobbles and slower tempo.
