Monsta – Messiah (Feed Me Remix)

feed meIt’s clear that anything Feed Me touches with his fingers of electronic magic will be perfect. His remix of “Messiah” originally by Monsta is yet another example of this perfection, and shows a more subdued side of Feed Me we aren’t used to. Instead of his usual massive womps and grinding synths that blow your ears apart, Feed Me has utilized a less intense production sound to this remix. It has a very high level of BPMs, and the lack of bass is almost quizzical in what we expect from Feed Me. Don’t let that deter you from the beauty that this song possesses. The vocals are the focus of this track, and the melody beneath them is fast and catchy, complimented by a piano riff. Listen to this unique production for yourself, something a little different from the norm for Feed Me.

In fine tradition, Protohype has blessed us with another free download this week that is possibly his best production to date. This massive drumstep remix of Chicago’s native trio, Krewella, is quickly gaining a lot of attention. “Can’t Control Myself” was the showcased electro house track on Krewella’s chart topping, Play Hard EP. Wobble Wednesday: Protohype & Kezwik – Vile EP

Following our post last week where we unveiled the hype about Protohype, we are proud to present to you his latest release with 17 year-old Kezwik. This release is a massive milestone for the two bass driven youngsters, because it was released on Excision’s ever so eminent, Rottun Records. This three song EP titled Vile, is nothing short of brilliant. With an almost spooky theme, this EP perfectly emulates and prepares all bass heads for Halloween time. The showcase track on this EP is “Vile”, where they feature a very haunted build up that then drops into an earful of perfectly mastered bass. There is also a remix of “Vile” by up & comer, Koil, who adds a shrieking tone to the howling drop created by these young musical entrepreneurs.  The third track is titled “Triple Grip”, where you will indeed need a triple grip to make it through this gruesome Drum & Bass production. “Triple Grip” is a prime example of the combination of DnB with Dubstep, resulting in a terrific Drumstep creation. Head over to Beatport & support these two youngsters and their evil Halloween concoctions.

Review of Figure @ 1015 Folsom in San Francisco 8/24

Figure’s performance at 1015 Folsom last Friday was nothing short of epic. The Monster of Drumstep was dropping some absurdly furious basslines that left the crowd begging for more. The supporting acts, Stratus, Johnny 5, Russ Liquid, and Thriftworks all played superb sets, throwing down everything from Dubstep to Moombahton to House. The place was packed for these guys and one of the most talked about names in bass music today. Re:Creation did it right with stacking the lineup full of great names. The ihatefun backroom featured music from James Christopher, Audio Angel, Dnaebeats, and Zaptap + Denley/B Durazzo. The place was jampacked with fans from all over the Bay Area and the music wasn’t letting down. 1015 Folsom was a Basshead’s wet dream last friday. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of Figure in San Francisco.
