Hard Summer 2013 Lineup Announced

With a very clever video featuring a bunch of DJ look-a-like dogs, the Hard Summer 2013 lineup was announced this morning. This year the festival will be hosting an incredible lineup of diverse artists including Dog Blood, Duck Sauce, Flux Pavillion, Eats Everything, Duke Dumont, Knife Party, Julio Bashmore, Oliver and many more. Ed Banger Records and Dirtybird will both be bringing some extra special talent as they host their own stages at the festival. It seems that Hard really stepped up this year to bring something new and fresh to the table. The festival will take place on August 3rd & 4th at LA Historic State Park. You can purchase tickets here. We hope to see you all there!

BANG! feat. Skrillex, Boys Noize and Kevin Saunderson

Recently Skrillex, Diplo and A-Trak launched a new YouTube media channel called Potato Will Eat You, and this is one of the first videos that was put up on the channel. ‘BANG!’ is a short documentary that features Skrillex, Boys Noize and an unusual addition Kevin Saunderson. In the video Skrillex talks some about working with Boys Noize on their new project, Dog Bloog, but the focus is turned to Kevin Saunderson, a pioneer in the Detroit techno scene that was the starting point for electronic music. I wan’t sure what to expect from this video before watching it but I can tell you that this exceeded them by a million miles. For a EDM icon like Skrillex to create a video to show people the roots of this music and where it all started shows a lot of about his character and no matter if you like his music or not its hard not to respect him for it. A lot of people don’t know about the history of dance music and many people don’t even realize that it started in America, and as this industry grows I think it is important for the people who are at the top to educate their fans about the truth behind the music.
