Justin Jay – Static EP

7184136
The 19-year old deep house prodigy is at it again with his new and 3rd release on Dirtybird Records. Justin Jay has made two completely killer tracks with ‘SoCal Soul’ and ‘NorCal Swagger’. The first track, “Static”, is heavy, with its crunchy bassline and drum kit feels. The second track, “Waves”, is more for the mellow types but nonetheless a very well composed tune with a nice melody and some beautiful pads.

Breach – Jack EP

Jack

Breach’s Jack EP features some ridiculously hot, groovy house music, so it only makes sense that it found a home on Claude VonStroke’s dirtybird label. There’s almost no need to provide further explanation; with deep, primal beats and sexy, tempting vocals, this stuff will get any house fan and lover of bass going. We’ve uploaded the tracks below so make sure to give them a listen… you’ve been warned though, these tunes are addicting.

MOX TV Online Music Video Channel

MOX TV is a brand new music video channel that lets you get the coverage on events and artists that you want to see. MOX TV is officially being released during Ultra Music Festival and the Winter Music Conference. With so many acts and so little time to see them, MOX TV is being released just when we need it. Now none of us will need to be rushing between stages and arguing with our buddies about which artists we want to see more.

MOX TV will also be hosting the MOX Bus—a dance party on wheels, complete with an open bar and world-class DJ crews. The bus can be seen cruising through the streets of South Beach, Downtown, and more. The MOX Bus will also be hosting daily takeovers from Revealed, Dirtybird, Anjunabeats, 1605 Music Therapy, and SMOG.

Carter Laren, Co-Founder of MOX TV has said, “We’ve chosen to work with these and other artists featured on MOX because we believe they represent the future of music, and we’ve chosen to launch in Miami during Ultra and WMC because of the sheer volume of talent and unbridled fan enthusiasm you experience when you’re there. Like most people in Miami that week, we won’t be sleeping much.” What differentiates MOX from other media outlets, Laren emphasizes, is its television-style presentation. “We’re not just another a dressed-up blog. I like to say that we’re what MTV would be if they launched in 2013. And if they played music.”

This is the next big thing in coverage of the music we all love. As their motto goes, this is what music looks like. You can check out the beta @ http://mox.tv/

Breach – Jack EP [Preview]

Dark, groovy, and sexual are the only words that seem to come to mind when I hear Dirtybird’s newest teaser of Breach’s Jack EP. Breach has created something that fits perfectly with the style and feel that Dirtybird’s tunes emenate. The 3 track EP includes “Jack”, a sensual composition of bass and dirty vocals, and “Let’s Get Hot”, Breach’s synthesizer madness at work. I have a feeling the lyrics of both of these are going to get stuck in my head for a while. Release date set for April fool’s day on beatport stay tuned for the link. Also, see what Claude VonStroke had to say about this EP after the jump.

For those of you who listen to BBC Radio 1′s Diplo & Friends, you may have already heard Annie Mac premiere Foamo’s remix of Wilkinson’s Take You Higher. In case you missed it though, Foamo has given us this little preview of it through his soundcloud. Foamo has always had my ears with his jungly utilization of percussion and bassey synths. Foamo is a resident at Rinse FM and one half of UK-based Gorgon City. If you want the full version as much as I did, you can grab your pre-order on iTunes, which is set to release on March 24th via Dirtybird Records.

Justin Jay – Everything EP

6689404

There is not much to say about this young deep house superstar other than the fact that he is absolutely killing it right now. With his newest release titled Everything EP, the 19 year old young LA native Justin Jay is proving his worth more and more everyday. Having multiple releases through Dirtybird Records, and now on Fatboy Slim’s massive label, Southern Fried Records, just goes to show that he is more than just a noteworthy producer. His music, often times nostalgic of the ambient deep house of the late 90s, is the trendsetter for today’s upcoming music waves. I am holding my breath until this guy’s next release, as I can not wait until his sound fully matures into one he can uniquely call his own.

Review: Dirtybird Takeover – Avalon Hollywood

Last Friday, February 15th, the cult-like following of the record label Dirtybird shuffled into the doors of the Avalon Hollywood to see the great Dirtybird Players, Worthy, J. Phlip, and Justin Martin. From the moment I walked in, I immediately knew that this night would be one to remember. The Dirtybird crew brings an energy of their own and has some of the most committed, eager and heart-filled following that make kids with Bieber fever look neglectful of their teenybopper idol. People were driving form everywhere Northern California, Arizona, and Nevada just to see these world renowned DJs play. Security guards were repeatedly saying, this is going to be a good night”, and you could see that everyone in the place was thinking the same thing.
