Dada Life – Boing Clash Boom (Major Lazer Remix) [Preview]

After just releasing their album Free the Universe less than a month ago, Major Lazer is back at it with a remix of  Dada’s Life “Boing Clash Boom.” The track begins with morphed vocals from the original with a clap build up only to lead to a trap style drop. Highlighting a ping pong lead, with an array of percussion that is subtle and not, this track will definitely be a winner. Unfortunately there’s no release date, but the remix will be released off So Much Dada. For now, enjoy the stream!

Diplo & Skrillex Join Forces Creating Supergroup – ‘Jack U’

Skrillex-Diplo

Move over Boys Noize, it looks like Dog Blood has some new competition. It appears as if the wonderkin we all know as Skrillex has decided to team up with an even bigger co-star, Diplo. The lineup for the annual Mad Decent Block Party has a diverse array of artists all performing on the same stage throughout the summer. Among those prominent artists, however, is Jack U. If you had a dumbfounded look on your face when you came across that name, don’t worry, so did we. A tweet from Diplo a few days ago cleared up any confusion by simply stating “Jack u… Means skrillex+diplo..”. The two will be performing together throughout the duration of the tour and we cant wait to see how their diverse yet compatible styles clash. Next we can only hope that the duo will be hitting the studio together for some serious production time after the tour ends.

Snoop Lion – No Guns Allowed (ft. Drake & Cori B.) [Produced by Major Lazer]

The release of Snoop Lion’s album Reincarnated is approaching us quickly. On April 23rd we will see if Snoop dropping the “Dogg” and adding the “Lion” and going down to Jamaica to record a brand new “reggae inspired album” was all worth it. From the songs to release so far, “La La La”, “Here Comes the King”, and the brand new, “No Guns Allowed”, I couldn’t be more pumped for this medication music. Snoop tactfully brought some major reinforcement onto this track as it features: Major Lazer (producing), Drake (vocals), Cori. B (vocals), his baby mama Shante Broadus (vocals), Stewart Copeland of The Police (percussion), and sampling Beirut’s hit track, “Nantes”. Snoop just came off two massive performances, as he played both weekends of Ultra and this song can serve as the perfect cure for those in the post Miami blues. Definitely make sure to check this one out and check back up as we’ll have all the latest updates on Major Lazer & Snoop Lion’s highly anticipated album Reincarnated!

Diplo – Express Yourself Remix EP

By now we have all heard Diplo’s massive booty poppin’ tunes “Express Yourself”, “Butter’s Theme”, and “Set It Off”. A lot of these remixes are pretty recognizable and have made there ways into mixes and sets around the globe. I definitely heard of a few of these get played as far back as Hard Summer 2012. The EP includes remixes from Gent & Jawns, TheFatRat, CRNKN, and Bot (formally of Crookers), among others. Another great release from Mad Decent. Gent & Jawns and CRNKN both deliver insane trap remixes of Diplo’s tunes while TheFatRat brings us his spin of “Set It Off” with a wild frenzy of dubstep madness. If you are looking for dark clubby house though, Bot had got just treat for you. All around a solid EP and well worth the listen.

Diplo and GTA – Boy Oh Boy (Original Mix) [Free Download]

boy oh boyDiplo and GTA, two of my personal favorite producers of all time, have teamed up for a killer take on Missy Elliot’s “Work It”. The original track has been transformed into a massive moombahesque song. “Boy Oh Boy” begins with a speedy beat and with vocals of Missy layered over the snappy drum beats. The track switches into GTA mode with some simple, yet gnarly synths all with Missy in the mix. Then we are taken back to 2002 with a straight cut from “Work It” in addition to the revised beat. This remix collaboration is pure genius, and takes applies a modern and innovative electronic twist to a classic hip hop track we all know and love. It is safe to say that Diplo and GTA have done justice to “Work It”, all while honoring the talent of Missy. “Boy Oh Boy” is being offered as a free download on GTA’s Facebook page, simply liking the page will give you access to the DL link. Enjoy!
