Wobble Wednesday: Excision & Downlink – Crowd Control (Delta Heavy Remix)

If you ever told me that someone took an Excision tune & made it even heavier, I’d simply slap you across the face and say that’s impossible. Well, Delta Heavy has slapped me across the face with this legendary remix of Excision & Downlink’s “Crowd Control” and proven that it’s completely possible. London producers Ben Hall & Simon James, better yet known as Delta Heavy, have been known to put a special twist on songs and turn them into full proof bangers. Perfect examples of this would be their remix of Nero’s “Must Be The Feeling” & Adam F’s classic “When The Rain Is Gone”. This rendition of “Crowd Control” released through the famous Rottun Records is no different, as they enhanced the bass thirsty anthem with their own twist of delta heaviness. This is a must listen on this fine Wobble Wednesday.

Troy Beetles, better known as Datsik, has been throwing down bass heavy bangers for quite some time now. Hopping from genre to genre, Datsik is a talented artist who has mastered the art of electronic music and putting on one hell of a show. Although he has been popular for producing dubstep, Datsik recently started his own record label, Firepower Records, which has signed artists such as Delta Heavy and Bare Noise. Wobble Wednesday: Delta Heavy – Down The Rabbit Hole EP

Fresh off playing the bassPod at EDC Vegas, Delta Heavy released their latest EP, Down The Rabbit Hole, which marks a new peak for the duo’s career. The chart topping Beatport release that draws heavily on Rock ‘N Roll and Heavy Metal has been generating buzz throughout the bass community, incorporating live guitars with their unique Dubstep and Drumstep styles. “Make It Rain” relies heavily on reverbed breakdowns, which provide an almost necessary contrast to the chopped up bassline of the main verse. “End Of Days” is a more Metal based breakbeat track with more of a DnB influence to it. This EP is definitely not one to miss as any basshead will have this EP on repeat all day long.

Simply put, this weekend was UNREAL. It began Thursday morning with a five-hour excursion from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, stopping only once for our precious In-N-Out. After finally touching down at our suite at the Mandalay Bay, we made it down the strip to the Hardrock Hotel to meet up with the rest of the Techi Team. What then ensued could only be described as a night of complete debauchery, leading into the next morning ready to head back to Mandalay Bay, where our good friends Gregory Sills and Peter Sims, together known as Fista Cuffs, played the topless pool party. Now that the darkness was approaching, it was time to call the limo and make our way to the main event – the one and only Electric Daisy Carnival, Las Vegas. Continue on for a day by day recap of everything that went down at the Motorspeedway on this legendary weekend…

Delta Heavy continues to shock and awe the EDM community with upbeat drum & bass tunes that are heavily influenced by dubstep; making a sound that is completely their own. Though the track is only paced at 87 BPM, it has an uncanny ability to energize your whole body. The slow beat combines with fast-paced laser synths in such a way that only Delta Heavy could produce. Wobble Wednesday: Nero – Must Be The Feeling (Kill The Noise Remix)

Nero’s hit track “Must Be The Feeling” has spawned many remixes of all forms of EDM. From Drum & Bass, to Moombahton, to Dubstep, “Must Be The Feeling” has received the remix treatment quite well, this time from Kill The Noise. Kill The Noise puts his growling bass lines and deep tones to compliment the vocal line, which has almost become a worldwide anthem. The drop does the track well, cutting the vocals back into the mix using chops and short reversed reverbs. Since becoming a regular on Techibeats’ Wobble Wednesdays, Jake never seems to let down for a second such killer and professional music.
