Well fans, the first weekend of Ultra Music Festival in Miami has come to a close and wow was it an amazing one. I sure hope some of you were either there for the amazing experience or streaming in from your computer via Ultra’s YouTube channel UMFTV. With some of the world’s biggest DJs playing sets throughout the day at different times and stages, it was hard to catch everyone you wanted to see as most festivals go. The wonderful thing about our post here is we have a chance for you to relive the experience through you ears, with some of our favorites from the first weekend. We apologize that some of these aren’t the full sets, but we will update them throughout the week once we get our hands on any full recordings as they arise. Wobble Wednesday: Nate Dogg – Shake That (Wick-It Remix)[Free Download]

Wick-It the Instigator not only has a unique name, but his production skills are about as individual as it gets and have distinct hip hop roots. Whether it’s producing a song for hip hop artists like Slug, Aesop Rock, Murs, and Yelawolf, combining the most ridiculous of mashups, remixing anything from Queen to Bubba Sparx, and producing originals in nearly every genre, Wick-it prefers to follow his own path and establish his own creative head turning style. Wick-It loves to bring songs back to life and give them a whole new purpose and definition  A prime example of this would be his latest remix of the late great Nate Dogg and his world-wide loved track, “Shake That”. Wick-It added a nice hint of moombahton flare to give this song a great back beat that practically forces you to shake that. Nate Dogg’s vocals really take over this track and Wick-It did a great job of morphing a perfect beat and melody to conform to the familiar “Shake That”. ‘Lessons in Love’, Kaskade and Neon Trees’ iconic poppy house hit has foregone a huge makeover with this massive hardstyle remix from the legendary Netherlands local, Headhunterz. Solidifying his position as the #11 DJ in the world, Headhunterz manages to catch everyone’s attention with each of his epic breaks and chaotic drops. The mix opens with some hard edges and breaks around the 1:30 mark with a sample from the original tune itself, but do not be fooled, the drop is nothing to sleep on.

Just in time for Halloween weekend, I bring to you one of my favorite Armin Van Buuren remixes, originally released in 2008. The original song by Kerli is an eerie story, but I love the trancey dancey Armin flavor on it. I know that’s not much of a flashback but I just love this track and think it’s got that perfect creepy sound to get you in the mood for the Halloween festivities. Break out those costumes and put this on your Halloween party pregame mix.

Decandence 2012 Lineup Announced

The Decadence 2012 New Year’s Eve one-day festival will be taking place at the Colorado Convention Center on December 31st, 2012. We are proud to announce the full, headlining lineup, which includes some of world’s top DJs performing all in one night. Some of the big artists to expect are ATB, Wolfgang Gartner, Zeds Dead, Mimosa, Krewella, Paul Basic, Rudee, Ecotek, and Fury. The event will have two stages providing a healthy dose of different music for everyone, the Global Dance Arena and Global Dub Arena. Hallowfreaknween 2012 is upon us in Colorado, being put on by the wonderful Triad Dragons and Beta Nightclub. On Saturday, October 27th the National Western Conference in Denver will be taken over by thousands of EDM fans to have one huge Halloween dance party. Figure – The Brink (Official Music Video)

Figure recently played at Colorado’s Global Dance Festival at the one and only Red Rocks amphitheater. While there he filmed his music video for his track The Brink. Just as you would expect from figure, the track is an epic dubstep track and the video is shot at a truly epic venue. Enjoy!

Originally released in Germany on ATC’s debut album, Planet Pop, this classic from the year 2,000 provides a univerally recognized melody accompanied by sampled vocals from russian pop track, ‘Pesenka’, by Ruki Vverh. The track peaked at #1 on the top 40 charts and still remains an internationally respected melody, despite it’s release over 12 years ago.
