Daft Punk – Emphazed (Possible Leaked Track) UPDATE: It’s Not

UPDATED:  What a surprise, it’s not. The track is entitled  Cosmic by Jorge and you can buy it on Beatport.

This leaked track has caught a lot of attention from the EDM community; it’s been a long time since the French house masters Daft Punk have released a full studio album (not counting the Tron Legacy soundtrack, the last studio album was 2005′s Human After All), and their fans are craving more. With a new album No End coming out in 2013, it was only time before we started to get “leaked” tracks bearing the Daft Punk name. This one here, “Emphazed”, is certainly a good track – it’s polished, fun, and bears a lot of the Daft Punk qualities such as arpeggios, funky breaks, and lush synths. Yet I can’t help but feel that it’s not an official Daft Punk leak but merely a very well-done fake, and most of the internet community seems to agree; the track seems pretty tame by Daft Punk standards, and the production – while good for a smaller producer – doesn’t compare to the greatness that these veteran producers are capable of. Then again, it could also be a very early, barebones leak. Time will tell whether this “Emphaze” is a real Daft Punk production or not, but for now take a listen below and join in on the speculation!

Ziggy – Cosmic [Teaser]

This recent teaser from Spinnin’ records is of the latest track by the infamous DJ Ziggy Stardust, “Cosmic.” You may have noticed that it is titled to the artist Ziggy, not Ziggy Stardust; however, the two are one and the same. Words from Ziggy himself: “Just to let you guys know.. It’s a ziggy stardust track but i had to change my name into ziggy because the name “ziggy stardust” is a trademark owned by David Bowie. I checked with his management if i could use the name legally and the request got denied. So now i’ll continue playing producing under the name ‘ZIGGY’.” Regardless of the name change, this song is massive and fit for the clubs, so be sure to pick up a copy when it releases on March 19th.
