Breach – Jack EP

Jack

Breach’s Jack EP features some ridiculously hot, groovy house music, so it only makes sense that it found a home on Claude VonStroke’s dirtybird label. There’s almost no need to provide further explanation; with deep, primal beats and sexy, tempting vocals, this stuff will get any house fan and lover of bass going. We’ve uploaded the tracks below so make sure to give them a listen… you’ve been warned though, these tunes are addicting.

Kry Wolf & Claude VonStroke – Turbosteppa [Preview]

This track is soooo sexy, but what else would you expect from the minimal master Claude VonStroke? This track, which has label-boss Claude VonStroke collaborating with his artists Kry Wolf (an electronic duo from the UK), is groovy, fun, and beautifully polished. Apparently they’ve been dropping different versions of this track since May – just getting it closer and closer to perfection – and this new one seems to have gotten it all right. Take a listen, and make sure to check it out again when it launches on Beatport on November 21st.

Kill Frenzy – Go To The Mo (Preview)

From the man who brought us “Make That Booty Clap” comes another EP of ass shakin’ booty bass goodness on dirtybird records. Kill Frenzy’s highly anticipated EP drops 9/12/12 on Beatport. Kill Frenzy teams up with Sacha Robotti for the title track “Go To The Mo” and then rolls solo to deliver a healthy serving of “Tits” while managing to “Push Up” the bass levels to mind blowing proportions on the last two tracks.  Check out the preview below and get a head start on what will surely be one of the hottest EP’s once it drops!

Tom Flynn – Be Yourself EP

Tom Flynn first burst onto the scene in 2010 after being awarded the ‘Best Break Through Producer’ award by Pete Tong. Since then, he has continued to release quality, forward-thinking house and techno on dirtybird, ViVa Music, Strictly Rhythm and more. For his latest EP Be Yourself, Tom returns to dirtybird  to deliver what label-head Claude VonStroke calls his “most thoughtful work to date”. The first track “Be Yourself” is a masterfully constructed melodic deep-house track that would feel right at home in a dark sweaty club early into the morning. The second track, “Wild Flowers”, has a very outdoors vibe and builds over the course of the track to an energetic climax.

Rico Puestel – Voeyage EP

It’s been eleven months since the last release on San Francisco’s mothership imprint but as we know, all good things are worth waiting for and today the sister label of dirtybird returns, with an exciting debut from German artist, Rico Puestel. As with a lot of the music signed by label chief Claude VonStroke, “Voeyage” was received as a demo. Picked up, signed and then backed with the B side “Plumb The Depths”, Rico’s mothership debut was ready to roll.

“Voeyage is very dear to me and very much a homage to my home City of Kiel” says Rico, who dissected and rearranged brief snapshots from hours of his own piano improvisations for the track. “Its a kind of musical meditation for me. I was looking to preserve the last strains of summer from the all consuming days of winter. Its a very personal production for me”.

“Plumb The Depths” on the flip finds Rico on the Ivories again as he plays and rearranges a mind twisting piano melody that works brilliantly in harmony, with a piercing synth riff, all powered by its marching bassline and impressive array of percussion.

The Underground: Weekly Top Five

Welcome to the first edition of The Underground, where we will cover new music ranging from deep house, tech house, techno, and electronica. For this edition I will be featuring five tracks handpicked by myself for standing out amongst the latest sea of releases.

Note: It is recommended to listen with headphones or quality speakers, your laptop speakers just won’t cut it for these.

Tennis aka Manfredi Romano is the head of the label and collective known as Life & Death (along with Thugfucker’s Greg Oreck) that has been taking the world by storm recently. With his newest EP “Make It Good”, Tennis has proved himself as one of the best producers in the game.  I chose this track off  of the EP because of its deep and powerful bassline along with the haunting vocals by Jeppe Kjellberg of WhoMadeWho that combine to create some of the most emotionally powerful music I’ve ever heard. Simply put this is one of the best tracks I have heard all year.
