Wobble Wednesday: FuntCase – So Vexed (Cookie Monsta & VIP Remix) [Free Downloads]

“So Vexed” by FuntCase was one of the first songs that got me into bass music a few years back. The aggressive attitude and powerful demeanor behind every gut wrenching hit, really hit home to me and made me fell in love with dubstep. Whether it be FuntCase, Roksonix, Flux Pavilion, Cookie Monsta, Doctor P or Brown & Gammon, whenever I see anything to do with Circus Records, I know it’s the business. It’s my pleasure to present to you years later, a remix of this dubstep classic by fellow Circus Records label-mate, Cookie Monsta. Cookie did a superb job of keeping the foundation and dynamics of this legendary banger, and enhanced it in all the right ways. FuntCase also had a go at his old breakthrough track and modernized the ishh out of it. The VIP is the best of the classic UK dubstep sound and the new modern contemporary sound we’ve been hearing totally combined and suped up. Enjoy the free holiday downloads from the Circus Records boys and a safe and Happy New Year to all of you!

Wobble Wednesday: Roksonix – The Dogfight EP

Guy Abbott and Phil Desborough are childhood friends who grew up making music together in nearly every genre. After playing in various bands together in their teens and over the years experimenting with jungle, hip hop, and drum and bass; the Buckinghamshire, UK duo found their calling in dubstep. After hearing the legendary “FabricLive 37″ album by Caspa & Rusko a couple years back, the tandem wanted to give the 140bpm a shot of their own and adopted the alias, Roksonix. Once the name was confirmed, Abott & Desborough immediately started pumping out remixes to establish themselves, including their remixes of Imogen Heap’s “Hide & Seek”, Flux Pavilion’s “Voscilate”, and a personal favorite, their remix of Talay Riley’s “Sergeant Smash”. These three remixes that they produced in their first 10 months set the standard for their wide musical talent and premiered their newly found and extremely distinct sound. Fast forward a year and a half to the end of 2012, Roksonix is signed to the notorious Circus Records founded by Doctor P & Flux Pavilion, have many top notch productions under their belt, and have earned the ranking amongst the best in the dubstep game.

With their latest EP release titled, The Dogfight, Roksonix has confirmed why their international success is the real deal. Their UK roots prominently are distinguished upon hearing their noise that orchestrates throughout each individual production on this EP. Each of the four songs tells it’s own bass driven story and showcase their musical talent and chemistry that dates back to their youth. The Dogfight EP  delivers two 140bpm gems, a 110bpm banger and a sped up 175bpm DnB track featuring Jenna G that will have you thriving for more. Don’t pass this one up because it is by far one of the best bass infused EP’s of 2012. Happy Wobbles Y’all!

Wobble Wednesday: Flux Pavilion – OneTwoThree (Make Your Body Wanna) [Preview]

Joshua Steele, otherwise known as Flux Pavillion is no stranger to blowing out our speakers with holy bass anthems. Yesterday  via twitter he announced that his brand new 8 track EP ‘Blow The Roof’ is finished and ready to hit the market on December 3rd.  This is massive news and the Circus Records co-founder couldn’t be more excited to unleash this magic upon our ears. Here, we have the first song to leak the web and it’s rather filthy if I do say so myself. “One Two Three (Make Your Body Wanna)” was first showcased in Knife Party’s Electric Zoo set & more recently included in Skism’s Never Say Die Volume 32 mix. This crossbreed combination of dubstep, electro and trap music, flaunts Flux’s ability to intertwine various genres into his own bass stew. By exposing and combining outrageous 808′s, high hats, synths, and wobbles Mr. Pavillion has officially set the tone for his upcoming EP. We highly advise you check this preview out and prepare yourself for the madness that Flux has in store for us on December 3rd.

Interview: FUNTCASE

Funtcase has been making dubstep since around 2009, and is already one of the most well-
known producers on the scene. Signed to Circus Records, the massive label owned partially by
Dr. P, & Flux Pavilion, Funtcase has been crushing charts and minds alike with his incredible
sound. His most recent release “DOOMED” features a new single “Dem Mans” alongside collabs
with Genetix, Persist, & Jakes, and has quickly become a favorite among artists and fans alike.
Some of his older tracks like “So Vexed” and “Mattress Punch” have become standard in
dubstep libraries across the globe and are still considered some of the heaviest dubstep productions
to date. This solid flow of wildly popular tunes, as well as his incredible skills behind a mixer
has earned him a huge number of diehard fans worldwide. We sat down with Funtcase before VitalSC’s “Rage By The Pound” event in San Francisco last week for an
exclusive in depth interview, or as his tour manager Pauly Brierly put it, ‘Funtcase Unmasked’.

Wobble Wednesday: Brown & Gammon – Rock Da Beats (Original Mix)

With DJ aliases ranging all over the place, sometimes it’s hard to keep up with how many people are actually in the DJ “group”. With a name like Brown & Gammon, you’d think that that it would be two DJ’s; Brown and Gammon, right? This statement is completely false and sometimes it’s hard to imagine that just one man can come up with the ideas and compilations that B & G has released. Whether it be trumpets, 80′s synthesizers, or samples dating back to the 20′s; when you see Brown & Gammon has released a new song, you never know what to expect. This time is no different as we have the release of his newest original mix, “Rock Da Beats”. This track starts off with a spooky build up that immediately simmers down into an extremely peaceful and relaxing hook. It doesn’t take long for the relaxation to deteriorate and for Brown & Gammon to enforce the grime. As soon as this song hits, you can distinctly hear Brown & Gammon’s UK Dubstep roots as he incorporates some very intricate wisps and hard slamming bass that are notorious of Circus Records’ label-mates. Make sure to snag this song off Beatport and make the best of your Wobble Wednesday!
