Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding – Need Your Love (Nicky Romero Remix) [Preview]

Nicky+Romero

Nicky Romero has just given the world a fresh remix he’s done of Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s “Need Your Love.” The best part about March may be March Madness for some, but for music lovers of EDM it’s the approach of the annual Winter Music Conference and Ultra solely because of all the tracks that are released in the process before. Romero has taken the same idea from the original track, using the main synth arpeggio approach, but has made it bigger and more of an anthem song. The release will be off Columbia Records, but stay tuned for a date. Enjoy!

X Games Aspen 2013 Live Sets – Calvin Harris & Major Lazer

This past weekend, Aspen, Colorado got taken over for the annual Winter X Games. For those who watched we heard as Major Lazer had their singles, “Get Free” and “Jah No Partial” ringing in the background between the action packed events. The widely popular Calvin Harris track, “Feel So Close” got plenty of air time as well and served as the background music for the transition between commentary of the games. For those who were lucky enough to be in Aspen, not only did they get to see history in front of their eyes as Japanese 14 year old Ayumu Hirano and 26 year old Shaun White battled it out on the Superipe, but they also got to witness some incredible live EDM performances. Saturday night at the X Games, Calvin Harris got the privilege of taking the stage and putting on a special performance for the bundled up Aspen crowd and bringing them to life. Last night, as the games closed out, Major Lazer brought their notorious highly filled energy set and closed the games out on a proper note. Check the videos of the performances below and get ready for the international Winter X Games circuit set to hit France, Brazil, Spain and Germany. AVICII – Levels Podcast 009 [Free Download]

Here we

have the most recent installment of Avicii’s new podcast. The best part about tuning into these is the new music; the artists all have it, and we all want it. The set starts with Syn Cole’s remix of “We Are The Lucky Ones” and continues into a new vocal mix of Avicii and Nicky Romero’s “Nicktim.” My personal favorite is Darwin and Backwall’s remix of “Space 1010,” which adds perfect extra grunge to the set. Avicii also uses the podcast as a time to do a quick update of what he’s up to, which sounds like a lot of studio time. So look forward to a new year of tunes Avicii lovers and grab a free download below!

Calvin Harris – Thinking About You (Myndset Remix)

Our good friend Myndset has just released his remix of Calvin Harris’s “Thinking About You” for free. Calvin Harris’s vocalists are always on point, and with Myndset’s brilliant mindset layed out on this track, we couldn’t have asked for a better song to jam out to. Let these melodies take you around for a spin and you are garunteed to be humming the chorus later today.

Wobble Wednesday: Calvin Harris – Sweet Nothing ft. Florence Welch (Diplo & Grandtheft Remix)

Diplo has done it yet again; this time remixing Calvin Harris’ massive tune, “Sweet Nothing”, alongside fellow producer, Grandtheft. Diplo’s versatile production style allows him to draw influences from a wide range of genres, rarely delivering anything subpar. Their take on “Sweet Nothing” is a perfect trap remix featuring the original track’s synth progression – both strengthened and laced on top of a slower, bass-heavy beat. This track is sure to be a staple in countless sets as we approach the winter festival season. Turn up the bass and enjoy!

Example & Dillon Francis – Someone To Die For

It’s been interesting to watch as many of the top EDM musicians collaborate with each other and similar artists; following Example’s collaboration with Calvin Harris for “We’ll Be Coming Back”, his album The Evolution of Man, which was released today in the UK, features collaborations with other prominent producers such as Laidback Luke, Hardwell, and Flux Pavilion. This track, “Someone To Die For”, is a great collaboration with the famous Dillon Francis; it’s definitely poppier and more restrained than Dillon’s usual offerings, but it’s a very well-produced, enjoyable track. Unfortunately Example’s new album hasn’t been released in the States yet, but we’ll let you know when it does – for now take a listen to the stream below.
