Daft Punk Rumored To Release New Single ‘Renoma Street’ On July 21st

For years now there has been speculation as to if and when the legendary French electro duo, Daft Punk, would ever release new material. Earlier this summer we heard that Nile Rogers, Paul Williams and Giorgio Moroder have been working with the duo on an upcoming album. Now we have more news that there could possible be a new single titled ‘Renoma Street’ (possibly named after the Renoma Café in Paris), released on July 21st.

Recently in Tsugi, a French magazine, revealed a list of tracks which contained the title of the new single. After being pressed about a release date, the editor and chief of the magazine replied on twitter saying ’21/7′, possibly meaning July 21st which is the same day as an upcoming Tsugi summer compilation CD.

There have always been so many rumors, which are usually all false, surrounding the duo so we always try to take this news witha grain of salt. However there has been a lot of evidence these days suggesting the return of Daft Punk. Nile Rogers has publicly stated that he is working with the group and that material will be released on their next album in ‘maybe June’. Their official website (www.daftalive.com) is now live again. Also, Nile Rogers & Mark Ronson are hosting the ‘Freak Out! Montreux Dance Pre Party’ at the Montreux Dance Festival and there are ‘Very Special DJs’ on the bill… Maybe the duo will be making their return to the stage as well. At this point all we can do it hope and wait for more news.
