Review: Lucky 2013

Seattle, Washington felt the luck of the Irish as they raged at Lucky 2013, an early St. Patrick’s Day celebration courtesy of USC Events. With stages such as End of the Rainbow and Leprechaun’s Lair, WaMu Theatre was transformed into a green and gold wonderland of The Emerald Isle, lights, and great music. USC even rolled in a field of real grass to create the Clover Field; a realm of relaxation complete with see-saws and park benches. This year, trance and progressive fans were rewarded with a stage dedicated to the genres. The End of the Rainbow stage featured artists such as Seven Lions, Nadia Ali, and BT, who captivated the audience with beautiful melodies and pulsing synths late into the night. USC hosted the stage with the goal of connecting the trance and progressive communities to create a unique and unforgettable experience, which they certainly accomplished. [Read more...]

Tuesday Trance Report – 107

This week on the Tuesday Trance Report, we’re featuring only a few select tracks that have caught the eye of our entire staff. The first is Andrew Rayel’s remix to Armin van Buuren and Markus Schulz’s ‘The Expedition’, which has been dubbed the respected anthem to ASOT600. Following Rayel we have BT’s radio edit to his brand new track ‘Skylarking’, and ‘Are You Ready’, a phenomenal original mix brought to Beatport by none other than DSCO on his latest EP, Year of the Snake, on Techibeats Records. Following the full releases of those three gems, we have a brand new preview to Dash Berlin’s remix of Hardwell’s ‘Apollo’, which provides some beautifully stemmed vocals from Amba Shepherd. After the jump, you’ll find yourself pleased to see a plethora of sets from Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz,�Max Graham, and Protoculture, which have been recorded live from ASOT600 in Mexico City. Tiesto feat. BT – Love Comes Again (The Remixes)

At last we’re given two vastly different remixes to Tiesto and BT’s classic collaboration, ‘Love Comes Again’. The remix EP, released to Magik Muzik, contains two takes on the track from Manufactured Superstars and JQA collectively, and a separate spin from young prodigy, Henrix. The first remix below shows somes stronger basslines and deep wobbles while Henrix’s remix takes on a more progressive and big room vibe. Each track provides a completely different atmosphere; which one is your favorite?

BT & Au5 – Partysaurus Overflow (Soundtrack Single from Disney/Pixar’s ‘Partysaurus Rex’ Digital Short)

Recently released from the animation leaders at Disney & Pixar, ‘Partysaurus Rex’ proved to be a massively successful digital short as it flooded the mainstream with a great production of childhood memories and a huge soundtrack single from none other than progressive trance producer, BT. In fact, the clip (which can be viewed in HD here) became so successful, it led BT to join forces with up and coming producer, Au5, in order to release an extended mix of the track which would later be dubbed the title, ‘Partysaurus Overflow’. Much like previous recordings from BT, this amazing soundtrack single opens with deep bass riffs and slowly builds with beautiful big room synth stabs. The mix eventually drops with huge euphoria only to break and build two more times with a much harder, quicker, yet nevertheless catchy form of eclectic sounds to build a wonderful new melody. Thankfully, both the digital short and full single are now available on iTunes, so be sure to support the artists and purchase the track for some reoccurring laughs and timeless pleasure. Enjoy!

Electric Daisy Carnival 2012 Las Vegas: Official Recap

Simply put, this weekend was UNREAL. It began Thursday morning with a five-hour excursion from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, stopping only once for our precious In-N-Out. After finally touching down at our suite at the Mandalay Bay, we made it down the strip to the Hardrock Hotel to meet up with the rest of the Techi Team. What then ensued could only be described as a night of complete debauchery, leading into the next morning ready to head back to Mandalay Bay, where our good friends Gregory Sills and Peter Sims, together known as Fista Cuffs, played the topless pool party. Now that the darkness was approaching, it was time to call the limo and make our way to the main event – the one and only Electric Daisy Carnival, Las Vegas.
