Underworld – Rez (Bassnectar Remix)

What song did you hear as the New Year countdown unveiled and the clock struck midnight? If you were in Tennessee for ‘Bass Lights’, you had the privilege of hearing this Bassnectar remix of Underworld and their track “Rez”. This track is very special to Lorin Ashton (Bassnectar) because the original was one of the first songs he ever heard at a rave. Fast forward 20 years and Underworld have specifically dissected the stems and granted the access exclusively for Lorin to reconstruct. This song is a magical journey that I can’t help but get lost in. This is definitely one of those set a peaceful environment, turn off the lights, and put on your dre beats and close your eyes tunes. Just release yourself and let the euphoric sensations Bassnectar has composed and the aggressive tribal drums succumb your speakers. Pre-order this one through the iTunes link provided below and enjoy the latest from the mythical Bassnectar!

Jantsen – When The Beats Drop

Bass junkies are in luck; it’s hardly been a week since the release of Bassnectar’s Freestyle EP, but Amorphous Music is not letting up. The newest release from Bassnectar’s label is the track “When The Beats Drop” by long-time collaborator Jantsen, as well as a Bassnectar remix of the same track. “When The Beats Drop” is a heavy-hitter, with monstrous bass drops and a dominating energy. The Bassnectar remix is just as good (even better, in my opinion) and adds in an extra layer of grime and glitch. Check out the tracks below, and grab the release from Beatport.

Bassnectar – Freestyle EP [Part 2]

It appears that our prediction was correct – Bassnectar will be uploading all six tracks of the Freestyle EP onto SoundCloud, leading up to the EP’s official release on iTunes this Tuesday! Following up from the great “Freestyle” and “Breathless”, we’ve got an additional two tracks here for you to listen to – “Hologram” and “Infinite”, tracks 3 and 4 respectively of his upcoming EP. “Hologram” is a very welcome addition to the EP, especially for old-time followers of Ashton; the psychedelic, experimental vibe of Bassnectar’s earlier releases makes a reappearance on this track, complemented with heavy dubstep wobbles. It’s an intense, mesmerizing track and leads very well into “Infinite”, which sees Ashton bring a crazy, energetic bass and some tight, drum & bass loops. This track is a lot of fun, and I can’t say I’ve heard Bassnectar do anything quite like it before. Check out the tracks below and keep your eyes open for the remaining two!

Bassnectar & DC Breaks (Feat. Mimi Page) – Breathless

Interesting… Bassnectar has just uploaded “Breathless”, yet another track from the upcoming Freestyle EP, to his SoundCloud page. This one showcases a more diverse sound from Bassnectar; within “Breathless” we see the producer experimenting with some drum & bass-style rhythms, progressive house-type melodies and vocals, and, of course, powerful, fun bass lines. Exciting stuff here for EDM fans and with tracks 1 & 2 of the Freestyle EP uploaded merely a day from each other, could we expect to see the remaining tracks go up in the next few days? We’ll be keeping an eye open for more to be posted on Bassnectar’s SoundCloud page, but for now enjoy this solid release!

Bassnectar (Feat. Angel Haze) – Freestyle

Bassnectar is going into full-hype mode for his soon-to-be-released Freestyle EP, and has chosen to upload the title track of the upcoming release onto SoundCloud for fans to stream. The single seems much in line with recent offerings from the skillful producer – a blend of dubstep, hip hop, and that signature sound which can’t quite be pigeonholed into any genre. While familiar, the track is certainly not any less fun; containing powerful head-nodding beats and infectious melodies, Bassnectar has provided EDM fans another top-quality track with “Freestyle”. Check it out on his SoundCloud page, and grab the full EP when it comes out on iTunes this Tuesday.
