Celebrating it’s 15th year anniversary, Ultra Music Festival has grown over the years into one of the world’s most prestigious EDM events. Boasting an impressive 7 stages in the heart of downtown Miami and an eclectic lineup featuring everyone from the superstars like Tiesto to the underground kings like Richie Hawtin and Seth Troxler. With any event of this scale, there are bound to be some problems, but for the most part Ultra did a really good job providing festival goers with the best possible experience. Lines weren’t unbearable, traffic was manageable, water was free, there were plenty of bathrooms, and getting from stage to stage was relatively easy and quick. For the most part, crossover noise between stages was minimized despite a couple unavoidable exceptions. Overall it seemed that Ultra had listened to their fans and did everything they could to make this an incredible experience for all and I think they did an excellent job. Our team went to the second and final weekend. Check out what I had to say about the festival below.

Steve Aoki & Angger Dimas vs. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike – Phat Brahms (Original Mix)

Dim Mak owner Steve Aoki along with Indonesian producer Angger Dimas, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike to give us an unconventional electro track. With grinding, low end synths combined with the classic sample from Johannes Brahms’ ‘Hungarian Dance No. 5′ this track has such a unique feel, but is definitely a must listen to for any electro fan. Enjoy!

Review: Electric Zoo

Electric Zoo Music Festival takes place every year the first weekend of September on Randall’s Island in New York City. As the premier electronic dance music festival in the north east, Electric Zoo garners massive acts and large scale productions. With names like Tiesto, Above and Beyond, Skrillex, Knife Party, and Pretty Lights set to headline in front of one of the most recognizable skylines in the world, Electric Zoo was shaping up to be one for the books. Joachim Garraud & Alesia – Atrium (Tony Romera & Bartosz Brenes Remix) [Preview]

Set to be released September 4th on Dim Mak Records, Tony Romera & Bartosz Brenes’ remix of Atrium is absolutely massive. A dirty, bit crushed, melody leads into a huge drop with some even grimier bass lines. This track is a banger in every sense and I can’t wait for the release.

I Love This City SF: Official Recap

There are few things more exciting than experiencing the first year of a new music festival. Although past experiences may draw thousands of people, including myself, back to major events such as Coachella and EDC, the sheer adventure of uncharted festival territory may be equally as enthralling. This was the first year for the twin festival, “I Love This City,” being hosted in both San Francisco and San Diego, and I had the opportunity to attend the SF event over the past weekend. More pictures and a breakdown of the weekend after the jump. [Read more...]

Steve Aoki ft. Kid Cudi and Travis Barker – Cudi The Kid

This video is one of the craziest music video’s I have ever seen. Steve Aoki always finds a way to stand out and this time he nails it again with child versions of the three artists along with creapy clowns and angry woman.
