Boards of Canada Announces New Album “Tomorrow’s Harvest”

Boards of Canada fans were in for a surprise when a Redditor posted an interesting sample that he found during 2013′s Record Store Day, featuring a short clip of familiar-sounding ambient melodies amidst static. It was soon discovered to be part of a larger viral campaign that had fans scouring the video for eerie videos, codes, and audio clips; the hard work payed off and we’ve been rewarded with the announcement of Boards of Canada’s first release since 2006. This musical group helped define the ‘intelligent dance music’ scene along with artists like Aphex Twin, and their prowess with creating mystical, hypnotic music has been dearly missed. Fans of the group have been rejoicing with the great news, but if you missed out on the group during their initial run now’s the time to get caught up. We’ve included a few of their older tracks below, which should get you ready for when Tomorrow’s Harvest launches on June 10th with 17 new tracks.

Noisia – DmC Devil May Cry (Original Game Soundtrack) (Album)

The veteran drum & bass trio Noisia has decided to venture into new territories by producing the soundtrack for the new Devil May Cry game. The release is currently charting on the Beatport Top 10 which may seem somewhat surprising given its unconventional nature, but the soundtrack is loaded with a mix of solid hard-hitting tunes and beautiful atmospheric pieces. Joni Ljungqvist or better known as JPL is no stranger to Trance and the Enhanced label. After being featured on several of Tiesto’s In Search of Sunrise series, JPL is known for his intricate and melodic productions. This time he teams up with Vitaliy out of Miami as they bring you balearic sounds in this beautiful track. “Blue” features a stunning guitar hook, a smooth bassline, and fresh groove that will get you feeling the Summer’s vibes. The song has been out on the internet for quite some time now but its official release was just days ago, so trance / chillout lovers be sure to pick up this track on Beatport.
