Above & Beyond: Acoustic Set Coming Soon

What better way to start off Trance Tuesday than with this picture featured above posted on the Above & Beyond Facebook page? This is all the news and clues we have for you right now, but this wouldn’t be the first time the trio ditched their studio equipment and replaced it with live instruments. In the video I’ve posted below, we see as A&B went on a hot air balloon trek with Virgin Balloon Flights and performed an acoustic set alongside vocalist Zoe Johnston. This was a very intimate and exclusive opportunity and it’s absolutely beautiful to see the passionate & emotional trance sounds and formations be translated and delivered in an truly live acoustic format. We couldn’t be more excited to see what Jono, Paavo, and Tony have up their sleeves for this innovative project that is “coming soon”. We will keep you updated with all information regarding this monumental proposal.

Well fans, the first weekend of Ultra Music Festival in Miami has come to a close and wow was it an amazing one. I sure hope some of you were either there for the amazing experience or streaming in from your computer via Ultra’s YouTube channel UMFTV. With some of the world’s biggest DJs playing sets throughout the day at different times and stages, it was hard to catch everyone you wanted to see as most festivals go. The wonderful thing about our post here is we have a chance for you to relive the experience through you ears, with some of our favorites from the first weekend. We apologize that some of these aren’t the full sets, but we will update them throughout the week once we get our hands on any full recordings as they arise. The date is coming closer and closer to the release of Anjunabeats Volume 10, mixed by the one and only Above & Beyond. The 30-track compilation, in its 10th volume, is now available for pre-order on iTunes HERE, or on the Anjunastore HERE. It will officially be released on these two online store next Monday, March 4th for your listening pleasure. After hearing all of these tracks put together, it is certainly going to be an amazing journey listening through in its entirety. Oliver Smith – Pressure (Original Mix)

Prior to one of the biggest trance compilations to release yet, Anjunabeats is proud to present their Pt. 1 edition of the Anjunabeats Volume 10 Sampler. With the full 2-CD mixed album coming out next month, they were kind enough to release two sample packs of some tracks featured on the compilation. One of the favorites from Pt. 1 is displayed here, from Oliver Smith, titled “Pressure”. Typical of Oliver’s production style, this track is purely uplifting with big synth leads and piano melodies to put you in a happy mood that trance music has been associated with for some time. It was just confirmed that one of Above & Beyond’s ID tracks from ABGT #001 is titled “Walter White”, which is dedicated to Breaking Bad’s legendary Heisenberg. I think it’s safe to say that Above & Beyond are fans of the great show and this track could please both the fans of the music and the show. If you listen carefully to the breakdown, this is the track that is used in the ABGT intro theme before every show begins. “Walter White” will get its official release as part of Anjunabeats Volume 10, one of the biggest EDM compilations, on March 4th. For now, enjoy the epic preview and look for the release next month!

Above & Beyond’s ever so wonderful new track “Alchemy” featuring Zoe Johnston on vocals was premiered just yesterday on Rolling Stone’s website. After hearing this song for the first time, I feel in love with it due to the amount of emotion and passion behind the music I heard which is expected from these amazing musicians. Now with the music video in view and seeing the story played out, you can really understand what the true meaning behind the track is that they trying to give all their listeners. One of the biggest weekends and events to date has come to an end for Above & Beyond. Above & Beyond to end Trance Around The World

Well trance fans, a sad day has come to us as Above & Beyond just announced on their latest Trance Around the World podcast that they will be ending their legendary radio show after the huge TATW 450 celebration in Bangalore, India. There are no details on why this has happened, but stay tuned as we are updated with more information on the sad news. In the meantime, give their last podcast a listen, because it is very special to anyone who loves Above & Beyond. They featured all of their favorite tracks from previous TATW podcasts.
