The Aston Shuffle vs Tommy Trash – Sunrise (Dyro Remix) [Preview]

artworks-000045643518-sqe6qn-t500x500

Dyro has uploaded an exclusive preview to his remix of “Sunrise.” The preview features the popular words from the original, and a minor transformation into a big room progressive track. While the track is enjoyable and well produced, it’s lacking originality. That being said only two and a half minutes is showcased, so unfortunately we’ll have to wait until May 12th for the full track, releasing off Casablanca. Which version do you Techi readers prefer?

Coachella 2013: 15 Electronic acts you can’t miss and why

Coachella

The final countdown has begun and nothing makes us more antsy than knowing only a few more days of school work stand between us and our unofficial “holiday weekend.”  Last week, the city of Indio granted approval for Goldenvoice to extend their annual music festivals on the polo fields through 2030 and also expand to hold 15,000 more attendees by next year. As loyal Coachella fans rejoice over the news, we couldn’t be more excited to return to the holy land. By now we’re checking off what to pack and who to see, aside from mentally preparing for the heat waves that await us, BUT before we hit the road…we leave you with one more cheat sheet to festival success!

Coachella – Your Camping Survival Guide

coachella-camping2

Last year during the back to back weekend phenomenon known as Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, two extreme records were broken. The first weekend, the temperature reached down to 40 degrees breaking the all time record chill factor for this teenage festival. One week later, weekend 2 members were overpowered by a blistering heat that reached up to 105 degrees. Although the temperature is something we can’t control – it is something that we can prepare for. As a soon to be four year veteran of camping at Coachella, here are some tips I’ve mustered up to help get you through the weekend.  [Read more...]

GQ Interview With Avicii Causes Quite A Stir

Aviciis-GQ

Recently GQ tagged along with Avicii for an in depth feature interview. Unfortunately for Tim the article did not paint him in the best light and lead to a heated response from the man himself as well as responses from many other DJs like A-Trak, Laidback Luke, Tommie Sunshine and Eats Everything.

The controversy was sparked by GQ’s reporter, Jessica Pressler’s account of her 4 day visit with Avicii. She portrayed his fans as party animal, drug fiends and douchebags and the superstar Swede as a bit of a pre-madonna himself. This segment of the interview caused the most uproar:

Event Review: Ultra Music Festival Weekend Two

575869_431831206911476_651525157_n

Celebrating it’s 15th year anniversary, Ultra Music Festival has grown over the years into one of the world’s most prestigious EDM events. Boasting an impressive 7 stages in the heart of downtown Miami and an eclectic lineup featuring everyone from the superstars like Tiesto to the underground kings like Richie Hawtin and Seth Troxler. With any event of this scale, there are bound to be some problems, but for the most part Ultra did a really good job providing festival goers with the best possible experience. Lines weren’t unbearable, traffic was manageable, water was free, there were plenty of bathrooms, and getting from stage to stage was relatively easy and quick. For the most part, crossover noise between stages was minimized despite a couple unavoidable exceptions. Overall it seemed that Ultra had listened to their fans and did everything they could to make this an incredible experience for all and I think they did an excellent job. Our team went to the second and final weekend. Check out what I had to say about the festival below.
