Well fans, the first weekend of Ultra Music Festival in Miami has come to a close and wow was it an amazing one. I sure hope some of you were either there for the amazing experience or streaming in from your computer via Ultra’s YouTube channel UMFTV. With some of the world’s biggest DJs playing sets throughout the day at different times and stages, it was hard to catch everyone you wanted to see as most festivals go. The wonderful thing about our post here is we have a chance for you to relive the experience through you ears, with some of our favorites from the first weekend. We apologize that some of these aren’t the full sets, but we will update them throughout the week once we get our hands on any full recordings as they arise. If you aren’t going to be at weekend two later this week, don’t miss out on the live music and tune in to UMFTV Friday-Sunday!

Today is the day when the masses begin to head to Miami.  Over 165,000 people are expected to be in attendance for Ultra Music Festival 2012, and thousands more are projected to be in Miami for supporting Miami Music Week affiliated pool parties, booze cruises, club nights, movie premiers and other events of all kinds.  Get ready to get live in some eighty-degree weather whilst plugged in to some of the world’s premier acts in EDM.  Here are six sets that we believe will blow your mind.  We tried to stay away from the truly blockbuster names, as if you’re a regular techi reader, y’already knuh whats good with them.

One Week Countdown to UMF [Free Download]

It’s that time of the year again, the 13th annual Ultra Music Festival is just around the corner.  What started in 1999 as a 1 day show on the beach has evolved to become one of the premier dance music festivals in the world. Drawing a crowd from across the globe,  the festival sold out for the third year in a row before the full lineup was even released.  Ultra is truly a dominating force in the festival game bringing big name artists such as Justice, Tiesto, Guetta, Kaskade, Avicii, Flux Pavillion, Dada Life and Armin Van Buuren just to name a few and winning multiple IDMA’s including best music event. The festival will be returning to Bayfront Park in Miami, FL for the first time in three years. Get ready for 3 days of sun and fun. If you can’t make it down to Miami, we will have more info later this week about how you can stream Ultra from the comfort of your couch.

Miami Music Week, The Definitive Guide Pt. 2 of 2 + Miami Noize 3

It’s Friday morning and you have been going hard at all the premier venues South Beach has to offer, pool parties during the day and clubs at night. At this point in the week, many of the faint hearted start to fade and decide to make friday a beach day.  Those with tickets to UMF rage all day at Bayfront Park, have their momentum going in the right direction, but go back to the hotel to shower only to melt into their couches. This is where the boys are separated from the men and the true champions emerge as Friday, Saturday and Sunday are when you can see the premier artists performing at UMF in the more intimate club setting. Pull up those briches and hit the dance floor son…it’s the MMW Guide Pt. 2.

The onslaught of drinks and tunes continues down in Puerto Vallarta after an electrifying second day. Thomas Gold absolutely destroyed club Xtine last night after a long day of poolside sunbathing. Every track the Progressive-House king dropped sent the crowd into a frenzy. All who attended the show last night left with an entirely new sense of respect for the man. His ability to command a crowd was only surpassed by his precise song choices and impeccable timing. The club itself facilitated some of the best visual and lighting effects that we’ve ever encountered; with strobes and LED’s lining the roof as they shifted with the beat. Check out the video that captured it all while we prepare for an epic third night with the one and only Dada Life.

Vegas Pool Party Season: It’s Finally Here!

With Spring Break 2012 and well as the spring season well on its way, what better place to party than Vegas! With much anticipation for 6 painfully long and grueling months with no day pool parties, the pools are finally opening their doors this and next weekend! The daylife begins Friday, March 9 at Wet Republic Ultra Pool and Saturday, March 17 at Encore Beach Club! Encore’s grand opening weekend won’t be until Saturday, April 21, but will feature superstar DJ, Steve Angello and Sunday, April 22 with Tiesto! Marquee Day Club and TAO Beach have yet to release any information regarding their opening days but with these two day clubs, it will definitely suffice for the time being. So get those tiny bikinis, sky-high wedges, and promoter numbers ready ladies! That hot hot Vegas sun is out and ready to rage.
