Candyland – Bring The Rain EP

This Santa Barbara duo has been turning heads; Candyland not only won Beatport Play’s remix contest for Bingo Player’s “Rattle” in early 2012, but pulled yet another victory for the Skrillex and Damian Marley “Make It Bun Dem” remix contest merely months later. Spinnin’ Records noticed this duo’s remarkable ability to top the Beatport charts with their remixes, and gave them a chance at some original productions. Judging by the newly released Bring The Rain EP, it seems like Spinnin’ Records made a good choice; the EP is filled with some great tunes that bring a fierce low-end whether in the form of electro house, dubstep, or even glitch hop. There’ll be something to dig for all EDM fans in this diverse collection of tracks – whether it’s the fun, hard-hitting ”It’s A Shark” collaboration with Big Chocolate, or something more like “Get Wild”, which takes the listener from some pump-up electro house sounds to slow-paced blissed-out moombahton. Listen to some of our selected tracks below and grab the full EP from Beatport!

Candyland – Get Wild (Original Mix) [Preview]

With two releases from Spinnin’ Records sitting in the top 10 on Beatport, there’s no denying it’s one of the best labels in EDM. With their constant release of new music and lack of discrimination towards every genre of music the new release from Candyland titled “Get Wild” is not any less unique. The electro dutch house beginning would have made for a great track, but the preview allows listeners to hear a little moombahton transformation at the end, which changes the track from great to straight up amazing. Check out the preview below and be sure to look out for the Bring The Rain EP releasing tomorrow!

Dada Life – So Young So High (Dillon Francis Remix)

Dada Life’s chart topper, “So Young So High”, takes on a new identity as Dillon Francis throws his moombahton trap flavor to this track. Aside from his love of cats and making ridiculous videos, Dillon has been slapping on some pretty hard remixes to songs recently and this is just another masterpiece to add to his collection. Soon to kick off his new ‘Wurld Turr‘ with special guests Oliver, you can definitely expect him to kick off his performances with this track.

Valentino Khan and ETC!ETC! have done a new Moombah track to add the upcoming Moombahton Forever compilation that will soon be released January 17th off T&A Records. The track “Eat It” pushes boundaries with tempo changing and brings a moombahton frenzy that eventually turns into a dutch house track. This track is different and will definitely be a favorite on the upcoming album, which also features artists like Nadastrom, Torro Torro, Tittsworth, and many more. Autoerotique – LZR FNK (Original Mix) [Free Download]

Autoerotique quickly became one of the top electro house producers of 2011 and 2012. “LZR FNK” gives off a completely different vibe from the usual hard hitting bass hits. The track has a nice dutch lead that sheds a little moombah and continues with high energy throughout the track. It’s different from their usual work, but definitely worth the free download. Check it out!

Wobble Wednesday: Datsik & Excision – Vindicate (Original Mix)

What really needs to be said about this one? The two names, Datsik & Excision should say it all. This song is everything you can imagine and so much more. Datsik & Excision came together to release this one on Datsik’s Firepower Records titled, “Vindicate”. Now don’t get this confused with the middle school jam, “Vindicated” by Dashboard Confessional, because this is the farthest thing from it. “Vindicate” is a testament to all that is Datsik & Excision, as this song is a master combination of their OG dub style from a few years back and this new modern contemporary sound that’s been blossoming. What makes it even cooler? This song is coming in at a solid 110bpm categorizing it under the evolving moombahcore phenomenon. Definitely check this one out, Happy Wobbles y’all!

Techibeats Best of 2012

I think it is safe to say that 2012 was a huge year, both for the dance music industry and for ourselves here at Techibeats. There has been countless tracks and albums released this year that have not only blown club and festival roofs off, but also pushed the boundaries of production in an innovative way. We’ve also seen lots happen in the news world of EDM, including some quite entertaining attempts of Paris Hilton DJ’ing and messing with Afrojack for some time, as well as rumors of Daft Punk returning to the stage. Despite everything that has happened in 2012, we feel very privileged to be a part of this wonderful community and all that it has offered us. Thanks to all our fans out there that have supported us and we look forward to an even bigger year in 2013. With that said, we are very happy to present our Best of 2012 article, where we’ve outlined the Top 20 Artists of the year, Top 5 Releases, Top 5 Festivals, and the Top 5 Tracks from just about every EDM genre. Once you all check out this full list, you’ll see that it is quite epic and is a great outline of the best things to hit the dance music industry this year. Please enjoy everything after the bump and have a Happy New Year!   [Read more...]

Paul Anthony, Atom Pushers & Zach Bletz – Swag (DSKOTEK Remix) [Free Download]

6357386

When I hear the name DSKOTEK I will forever associate it with a raw fusion of electro, moombahton, dubstep and just about any other bass-heavy genre meshed into one. Their remix of Paul Anthony, Atom Pushers & Zach Bletz’s “Swag” is nothing short of musical chaos. The track itself jumps all over the board, pushing boundries and testing limits that have otherwise not been explored. Be sure to pick up this free download by following the link below and entering the password “swag”. Enjoy!

Wobble Wednesday: Fista Cuffs – Dark Arts EP [Free Download]

Gregory (GT) Sills, also known as the founder of Techibeats Records and half of the bass driven moombahcore duo, Fista Cuffs, wanted to personally wish you a Happy Holidays. GT expressed his holiday greetings in the form of an intricately constructed EP available for free download entitled, The Dark Arts. This three song bass-filled masterpiece showcases the hit single, “Dark Arts” and also contains a VIP edit of the track. My favorite part of the EP is the Christmas spirited rendition of Mykola Leontovych’s “Carol of the Bells”, cleverly entitled “Carol of the Bass”. The modern day drumstep reenactment created by Fista Cuffs contains a clean drum pattern that plays off of this customary jingle and bells leading into a gritty drop that should be played only on the highest quality subwoofers. Truly a job well done by the Fista Cuffs boys, GT & Peter Sims, and make sure to catch their set in the Techibeats Tent at Snow Globe Music Festival. Free download available below, Happy Chrismahanakwanzika!
