Alas, it is finally here, I’ve been waiting to get my hands on this for way too long! Bro Safari & UFO! have been hyping up an album for over a year that has never hit the market, but I can rightfully say that the wait was worth it. This 10 track LP titled, “Animal” has something for all lovers of bass. Whether you like moombahton, glitch-hop, trap, dubstep, downtempo, uptempo, drum & bass etc. there is something for you! It’s quite impressive the genres that they spanned and how stunning each individual track turned out. I’ll keep the review short and let Bro Safari & UFO! do the talking:

“Here it is. The album that we’ve been talking about for over a year. Scheduling conflicts be damned, we made it happen! Yes, the process was long, and at times it was even a little grueling, but we stuck to our guns and we couldn’t be happier with the results.

Originally, we created about 16 tracks for the album, and then we narrowed it down to the songs that you have in front of you today. It was important to us that we create a collection of music that crossed multiple styles and genres, yet told a coherent story. It’s not an easy thing to do, but we feel like we pulled it off by using themes, samples, techniques and by consciously assessing what did and did not work together.

We feel like there is something for everyone on this record and we’re very pleased with the fact that we can offer this to everyone for free. All we ask is that you listen to it with an open mind, share it with your friends and come say hello whenever we play a show in your city.

So, once again – Thank you to each and every person that showed us support over the last few years. We love working together, and have already discussed plans for a follow up album.

Wobble Wednesday: Pegboard Nerds & Tristam – Razor Sharp (Original Mix)

When the legends, Knife Party, claim that they are coming to a point when they don’t want to play a live show unless it’s with South Central, MONSTA, and Pegboard Nerds, then you know these acts must be the future of EDM. Let me introduce you to the duo consisting of Alexander Odden (Norway) and Michael Parsberg (Denmark). These guys individually have produced all over the map and in every sub genre and genre of music before coming together in late 2011 to form Pegboard Nerds. Their most recent track “Razor Sharp” is an absolut testament to their production capabilities and their creative approach. This one is topped off with a grinding intro, incredible melody, and an overwhelming bass filled drop that immaculately all come together. Wobble Wednesday: Limp Bizkit – Nookie (Spaveech Remix) [Free Download]

It’s hard for me to contain my excitement with this remix by Spaveech. When he created his exclusive mix for us a couple weeks back that featured a bunch of unreleased tracks, this was the one that truly blew my mind and won me over. It’s my absolute pleasure to present to you Spaveech’s take on the 1999 childhood classic, “Nookie”. This composition is an absolute treat, as it explores different tempos and completely progresses throughout the entire compilation from an electro house song, to a booty bouncing moombahton jam and ending in some elbow leaning trap. There are 3 drops that orchestrate throughout this number and each one will individually ripple through your speakers and leave you in complete awe. The combination of the tracks’ guitar samples with Fred Durst’s dominant vocals over the handcrafted Spaveech instrumental is absolutely lethal. I could go on for days about how well structured and put together this track is, but I am a firm believer in “action speaking louder than words” so I will let Fred Durst and Spaveech do the rest. What I love most about Dillon Francis is the fact that he stands almost alone when it comes to his particular sound which is quite apparent in his latest remix of Passion Pit’s single, “Carried Away.” Although he remains true to his moombahton roots, Dillon Francis’ sound has developed over the years as the combination of choppy vocal samples, fat electro bass beats, and feel good synthesizer melodies have also become a staple to the fantastically unique music he produces. “Carried Away (Dillon Francis Remix)” is no different, yet although other DJ’s grow content with their style Dillon Francis continues to get better and enjoy his creations even more. On his Soundcloud for this song he wrote, “Here’s my extremely happy remix of Passion Pits song carried away… this and my suit and tie remix might be my favorites to date!!” exemplifying his ever maturing hand for making great dance music and loving every second of it as much as we are. There’s no denying it, Dillon Francis is on top of the game and shows no signs of slowing down. Not only has Dillon mastered the art of keeping his fans thoroughly entertained with his “one-of-a-kind” personality, but his musical productions are so well done and seemingly unmatched. His latest release was a collaboration with the English musical genius, Simon Lord, that is titled, “Messages”. This composition is everything we’ve come to love from Dillon: euphoric, catchy, upbeat, melodic, bouncy, and heavy! Simon Lord’s vocals perfectly embellish this track and competently add an extra factor of greatness to this big big tune. Diplo and GTA – Boy Oh Boy (Original Mix) [Free Download]

boy oh boyDiplo and GTA, two of my personal favorite producers of all time, have teamed up for a killer take on Missy Elliot’s “Work It”. The original track has been transformed into a massive moombahesque song. “Boy Oh Boy” begins with a speedy beat and with vocals of Missy layered over the snappy drum beats. The track switches into GTA mode with some simple, yet gnarly synths all with Missy in the mix. Then we are taken back to 2002 with a straight cut from “Work It” in addition to the revised beat. This remix collaboration is pure genius, and takes applies a modern and innovative electronic twist to a classic hip hop track we all know and love. It is safe to say that Diplo and GTA have done justice to “Work It”, all while honoring the talent of Missy. “Boy Oh Boy” is being offered as a free download on GTA’s Facebook page, simply liking the page will give you access to the DL link.
