Alas, it is finally here, I’ve been waiting to get my hands on this for way too long! Bro Safari & UFO! have been hyping up an album for over a year that has never hit the market, but I can rightfully say that the wait was worth it. This 10 track LP titled, “Animal” has something for all lovers of bass. Whether you like moombahton, glitch-hop, trap, dubstep, downtempo, uptempo, drum & bass etc. there is something for you! It’s quite impressive the genres that they spanned and how stunning each individual track turned out. I’ll keep the review short and let Bro Safari & UFO! do the talking:

“Here it is. The album that we’ve been talking about for over a year. Scheduling conflicts be damned, we made it happen! Yes, the process was long, and at times it was even a little grueling, but we stuck to our guns and we couldn’t be happier with the results.

Originally, we created about 16 tracks for the album, and then we narrowed it down to the songs that you have in front of you today. It was important to us that we create a collection of music that crossed multiple styles and genres, yet told a coherent story. It’s not an easy thing to do, but we feel like we pulled it off by using themes, samples, techniques and by consciously assessing what did and did not work together.

We feel like there is something for everyone on this record and we’re very pleased with the fact that we can offer this to everyone for free. All we ask is that you listen to it with an open mind, share it with your friends and come say hello whenever we play a show in your city.

So, once again – Thank you to each and every person that showed us support over the last few years. We love working together, and have already discussed plans for a follow up album.

One of the first leaked tracks from Andrew Bayer’s much anticipated artist album, If It Were You, We’d Never Leave, was just released on XLR8R for a free download. “It’s Going To Be Fine” sounds just as the title states, a very soothing downtempo tune with chilling vibes throughout. Taking the sample from Sufjan Stevens’ “Seer’s Tower”, Andrew adds in piano chords and clapping drums to keep your head nodding the whole time. Like most of his work, the breakdown and mood is still very beautiful andatmosphericto give you chills as you listen. This masterpiece is just a small taste of what’s to come on this album, so be sure to keep checking back here for more updates as the release date comes closer next month! Enjoy!

Pretty Lights – The Day Is Gone (NYE 2013 Recap Video)

Derek Vincent Smith, the genius known as Pretty Lights, has produced and released a recap video from his show during this past New Year’s eve celebrations in New York City. The video showcases stellar views of the NYC skyline, beautiful fans celebrating a new year, and of course, the spectacular visual show that accompanies Pretty Lights during all of his sets. PL is infamous for the amazing LED backdrops and scenery accompanying his DJ booth, dozens of lasers in every color imaginable, and breathtaking music that perfectly compliments what your eyes are seeing with what your ears are hearing. The track playing during this video is Pretty Lights’ latest single “The Day is Gone”. The song is a classic PL production featuring amazing remixed instrumentals, heavy bass, and vintage vocals. Wobble Wednesday: The M Machine – Metropolis Pt. II [Album Teaser]

The M Machine put themselves on the map in 2011 with their debut release on OWSLA titled, “Metropolis Pt. I”. They premiered their work through an album teaser video directed by Scott Pagano that received much cyber succes. We’ve been patiently waiting for Pt. II and we finally have something to hold us over, with the 2013, Metropolis Pt. II album teaser, created & directed by the notorious Scott Pagano.The official name for The M Machine’s YouTube channel is, “Metropoganda” and my oh my, is it fitting. No words can describe what I’ve just witnessed, so I invite you to witness this magic for yourself. The psychadelic adventure that unfolds will undoubtedly leave you wanting more and we are amped for the official release on February 19th!

Wobble Wednesday: Zeds Dead – Hot Sauce EP

With the plethora of big releases since the start of 2013, it was only time before the ever so popular duo, Zeds Dead, put out a compilation of originals on an EP for our listening pleasure. Zeds Dead have always taken the dive into different genres, but this EP titled, Hot Sauce, ventures into a very experimental territory, perfectly suited for a release on Mad Decent. The EP kicks off with the dark and wobble filled track titled, “Demons” which features excerpts from classic horror films. The ensuing song is the rather liquid and bouncy song, “Playa” which is followed by the minimal and groovey synth packed number called, “Mr. Sub”. For fans of fast UK rooted breakbeat pieces, “Rave” is for you! The last song on this 5 track EP titled, “Trouble” really catches my ear and definitely has a lot of that Zeds Dead recognizable flare we’ve grown to love. All of these songs are sure to add some extra vivacity to the duo’s already exhilarating live performance. With each song being so unique and containing it’s own pizzazz, they each represent a unique flavor that serves as an ingredient in this Hot Sauce, which will be your favorite?

Candyland – Bring The Rain EP

This Santa Barbara duo has been turning heads; Candyland not only won Beatport Play’s remix contest for Bingo Player’s “Rattle” in early 2012, but pulled yet another victory for the Skrillex and Damian Marley “Make It Bun Dem” remix contest merely months later. Spinnin’ Records noticed this duo’s remarkable ability to top the Beatport charts with their remixes, and gave them a chance at some original productions. Judging by the newly released Bring The Rain EP, it seems like Spinnin’ Records made a good choice; the EP is filled with some great tunes that bring a fierce low-end whether in the form of electro house, dubstep, or even glitch hop. There’ll be something to dig for all EDM fans in this diverse collection of tracks – whether it’s the fun, hard-hitting ”It’s A Shark” collaboration with Big Chocolate, or something more like “Get Wild”, which takes the listener from some pump-up electro house sounds to slow-paced blissed-out moombahton. Skrillex – Leaving EP

Skrillex has just released a brand new 3 track EP titled ‘Leaving’ and it definitely has a different feel than some of his other stuff. On the track ‘Leaving’ he strays away from grinding basslines and screaming stabs and gives us a more chilled out electronica/breaks track. ‘The Reason’ is a very dynamic electro track that has one foot on the darker end with the other maintaing a very melodic element. Sonny doesn’t totally abandon the unique, glitchy, bass heavy sound that he has pioneered, with ‘Scary Bolly Dub’ we still get a heavy dubstep banger with several elements that are extracted seemingly straight from some of his previous tracks.
