Skream, one of the main figures in the dubstep movement has really been going back to his UK roots as of late and exploring sounds from past genres. He pioneered the mainsteramization of dubstep and has been rekindling the UK deep house garage movement as well as revamping the sounds of the nu disco. With his latest mix, titled “Disco Set For Jude” he displays his love and passion for the groove and vibrant sounds of disco. Judie, whoever you are, you are one lucky soul.

Justice – Access All Arenas (Album)

The French electronic duo from the house of Ed Banger Records has kept us waiting long enough for their live album and at last it’s here to add to our collections. Justice, composed of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay have contributed greatly to the rise of the electronic music scene, pushing the envelope with their rock star lifestyle and influenced beats in arenas across the globe. Released with 14 tracks, and every track that an unfamiliar fan would ever need to get acquainted with their boundary breaking sound, the album echoes with cries of fans in the audience that have you reminiscing of their white lit up cross blinding you in front row. The album was recorded in France at the Arena of Nimes last July and although it’s been almost a year since then, their sound still creates chills from start to finish.

Passenger 10 & Nora En Pure – Shine More (Original Mix)

Today we have an amazing track that in my opinion, came out of no where and pleased my ears much more than I thought. Seeing it was from Passenger 10, who is the well credited producer Chris Reece (half of Dinka), I knew it was going to be something amazing. “Shine More” by Passenger 10 and Nora En Pure initially sounds like a remix of “Aerodynamic” by Daft Punk, but is still quite different. It has the french house sound, with a breakbeat influenced breakdown sampling “Give Me More” by Brittney Spears. Give this one a listen and enjoy!

Gregori Klosman – Serial Killer (Original Mix) [Preview]

Here is a preview of the latest production from French house genius Gregori Klosman. “Serial Killer” is so amazing it’s scary. The track is scheduled for official release February 25th, and will be the first release on Klosman’s newly founded label Guru Recordings. “Serial Killer” begins with a sample from the infamous theme song from the movie Halloween. Klosman throws in a fast paced beat beneath those oh so recognizable piano chords, and morphs the chilling melody into a house build. “One, two, three, JUMP!” will catch you off guard as the track drops into a super gnarly electro break. Klosman flawlessly transforms the entire track into an unexpected banger that I predict to be included in many major sets of 2013. Oliver – Mechanical EP

Oliver’s Mechanical EP, released today by Fool’s Gold Records, is a welcome surprise; the EP  showcases the duo’s skill with energetic, funky house as well as slower, soulful grooves. “MYB” and “Control” draw quite a bit from the French scene – reminding listeners of Justice and Daft Punk with exaggerated synths, cheerful vocals, and heavy, funk-drenched beats. Meanwhile, “Night Is On My Mind” slows things down with late-night deep house sounds, and “Mechanical” brings in some blissful, synthpop-inspired electronica with layers of beautiful melodies. Oliver has definitely caught our eye with this very well-done, adventurous EP and we’re hoping that the duo keeps the material coming.
