Protohype continues his impressive reign on the bass-music community with massive releases coming out every week. He has a unique ability to injet his own dubstep roots into any track. Take his most recent remix of Birdman & Lil Wayne’s “Pop Bottles” for example. This hip-hop track had its time a few years ago and seemed all but played out, but Protohype was able to reenergize and revitalize the track into something fresh. Wobble Wednesday: A$AP Rocky ft. Skrillex – Wild For the Night (Official Music Video)

“Wild for the Night” was the result of A$AP Rocky & Skrillex bringing their vastly different musical approaches together to form the  turn up anthem of 2013. The music video for the track is the result of the A$AP Mob and Skrillex taking their talents down to the slums of the Domincan Republic. In this highly entertaining video we see A$AP & Skrilly cruising the town on scooters, flashing some gang signs, dancing and immersing themselves with the locals and then finally bringing the party to a Dominican club. Besides their musical styles, A$AP & Skrillex couldn’t act and dress more different, but judging by this video I think we might have a new member of the A$AP Mob … A$AP Skrilly. The video ends in the club with Skrillex showcasing his DJ skills and blending in one of his newest and highly acclaimed releases on his label OWSLA, Candyland’s remix of Kill Paris’ “Slap Me”. Paper Diamond is a wonderful producer when it comes to fusing trap with dubstep. This ‘trapstep’ style is very evident in his latest track “They Can’t Tell Me Nothing” which is up as a free download on Paper Diamond’s Facebook page. Diplo – Express Yourself Remix EP

By now we have all heard Diplo’s massive booty poppin’ tunes “Express Yourself”, “Butter’s Theme”, and “Set It Off”. A lot of these remixes are pretty recognizable and have made there ways into mixes and sets around the globe. I definitely heard of a few of these get played as far back as Hard Summer 2012. The EP includes remixes from Gent & Jawns, TheFatRat, CRNKN, and Bot (formally of Crookers), among others. Another great release from Mad Decent. Gent & Jawns and CRNKN both deliver insane trap remixes of Diplo’s tunes while TheFatRat brings us his spin of “Set It Off” with a wild frenzy of dubstep madness. If you are looking for dark clubby house though, Bot had got just treat for you. All around a solid EP and well worth the listen.

Well fans, the first weekend of Ultra Music Festival in Miami has come to a close and wow was it an amazing one. I sure hope some of you were either there for the amazing experience or streaming in from your computer via Ultra’s YouTube channel UMFTV. With some of the world’s biggest DJs playing sets throughout the day at different times and stages, it was hard to catch everyone you wanted to see as most festivals go. The wonderful thing about our post here is we have a chance for you to relive the experience through you ears, with some of our favorites from the first weekend. We apologize that some of these aren’t the full sets, but we will update them throughout the week once we get our hands on any full recordings as they arise.
