Destroying Beatport’s drum & bass, dubstep, and electro house charts this week, we have ShockOne’s viciously diverse new album dubbed, Universus, on Viper Recordings. Featuring his high tempo, signature sounds and a small remedy of bass heavy collaborations, we’re excited to see this Australian producer’s potential fully blossom with a sever influx of harmonic melodies and cosmic vocal samples. Collaborators within the album include Phetstsa, Reija Lee, Metrik, Kyza, and Sam Nafie. When the legends, Knife Party, claim that they are coming to a point when they don’t want to play a live show unless it’s with South Central, MONSTA, and Pegboard Nerds, then you know these acts must be the future of EDM. Let me introduce you to the duo consisting of Alexander Odden (Norway) and Michael Parsberg (Denmark). These guys individually have produced all over the map and in every sub genre and genre of music before coming together in late 2011 to form Pegboard Nerds. Their most recent track “Razor Sharp” is an absolut testament to their production capabilities and their creative approach. This one is topped off with a grinding intro, incredible melody, and an overwhelming bass filled drop that immaculately all come together. Wobble Wednesday: MODESTEP – Inside My Head EP [Free Download]

If you’ve never heard of UK’s four piece live bass driven band, MODESTEP, then it’s time to get outside. These guys have been re innovating the art of a live performance and have flawlessly incorporated the classic genre of rock/ heavy metal with the evolving genres of bass music. They have already made their mark on the rest of the world and just finished providing a one of a kind live set with their debut North American headlining tour that ended last week in Coachella. With the major success and positive reaction from this tour, they have graciously provided a three song EP titled, “Inside My Head”. This EP is filled with emotion in the three tracks, one which is a collaboration with Teddy Killerz and the vocals of Ghetts fittingly titled, “Inside My Head”. “Prevolution” is the second track on the EP which showcases their superior musical and production talent that results in a relaxing and beautiful composition. The third song of this EP was the highly anticipated remix of Ryan Keen’s “All This Time” which could possibly take the cake as one of the best MODESTEP songs to date. Wobble Wednesday: Skrillex ft. Damian Marley – Make It Bun Dem (MONSTA Bootleg) [Free Download]

Last year there was an epidemic of “Make it Bun Dem” remixes that resulted in one of the largest Beatport remix contests to ever be held. As we’ve seen this song dissected and transformed into every way, it’s understandable to be skeptical upon seeing yet another remix of this track. However, fellow OWSLA members, MONSTA, have given this track a whole new light and completely enhanced the familiar stems in all the right ways while still establishing their own sound. The UK trio embellished this track by morphing it into a fast paced, bass slamming track that would fall under the future of bass music in this new “trapstep” movement. Legendary tune, monumental remix and a free download, happy days!

Wobble Wednesday: Caspa – Alpha Omega (Album)

Caspa has been around since the birth of dubstep and is considered by many to be an innovator within the genre. He has had massive releases with Rusko in addition to his impressive solo resume. Caspa is at it again with one of the most diverse pieces of work in the history of dubstep as it transcends into a variety of other genres. His album, Alpha Omega, features artists like Partysquad, Diane Charlemagne, and Mighty High Coup who all contribute to the variety of different styles that Caspa is trying to capture. This album has something for everybody and the teaser video above does a wonderful job of showcasing what Caspa has to offer. Wobble Wednesday: Zeds Dead – Spring Mix [Free Download]

I couldn’t think of any better way to celebrate then with a filthy, grimy, and awesome hour mix by Zeds Dead as they showcase their ever improving talents behind the decks. These two guys have blown up in the past two years and I can’t possibly see the momentum they’ve been building slow down any time soon. They are fearless when it comes to their song selection as their transitions from dub-step to hip-hop to electro house to trap seems almost flawless while others will never venture outside of their comfort zone. These two are definitely making a name for themselves and if you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing them live yet be sure to catch them as they ride the festival circuit all summer long. Enjoy!

Here we have a brand new track fresh off of the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming film – the Great Gatsby. It is instantly clear that this track was crafted specifically for the movie, but that doesn’t take away from its overall quality. “Into The Past” encompasses those heavy basslines that we have become accustom to from Nero along with melodic string progressions that play beautifully off of the vocals.
