This preview of Zedd’s most recent remix is nothing short of hard hitting. His take on Empire Of The Sun’s “Alive” showcases his variability as a producer with two different, distinct drops. The first drop comes out with a glitchy, electro sound that demands your attention from the beginning. It leads into the original track’s chorus which is followed by a mellower and melodic drop. This track drops on May 21st but check out the preview below and enjoy!

Mashups and bootlegs have become a hot commodity in the dance music community over the past few years. They have become a testament of what the producers can do in the studio more so than what they can do behind the decks. Though they often take much of the skill out of mixing, mashups are a great way to blend two or more songs in a harmonious union. Just take this free release from Gina Star for example; a masterful combination of Nicky Romero’s “Symphonica” and Dirty South & Monsta’s “Messiah”. The mellow points of the track embrace the vocals from “Messiah” until it builds and drops into “Symphonica”. Check it out below and pick it up for free now!
