Clockwork & Felix Cartal feat. Madame Buttons – The Fire (Original Mix)

the fireTwo of my favorite producers of all time have finally come together for a collaboration! Along with Madame Buttons on the vocals, Clockwork and Felix Cartal lend their amazing electro house skills to create “The Fire”, out now through Dim Mak Records. The track begins with a deep beat, and then adds in a low bassline with fun synths. Madame Buttons comes in shortly after, signing a beautiful song to compliment the upbeat dance feel. Then in the classic style of gnarly electro, her voice fades as the track builds and breaks into a killer drop that put a huge smile on my face. Collaborations are great for the fact that two or more producers can showcase their talents in one vessel, however I think that many times one producer’s sound dominates the creation. “The Fire” is unique for the opposite reason; Clockwork and Felix Cartal have seamlessly melded their talents into one, cohesive sound that balances their musical personalities. Listen for yourself, you do NOT want to be left out of “The Fire”.

Showtek and Noisecontrollers – Get Loose (Tiesto Remix)

tiestoTiesto has masterfully remixed yet another track into what I consider to be superior to it’s original. His take on “Get Loose” by Showtek and Noisecontrollers warps their initial production into something far more housey and danceable. Tiesto has greatly slowed down the track, and the lesser amount of BPMs allows for house dominance in the song as opposed to the original hardstyle pace. “Get Loose” features classic Tiesto sounds, and brings back memories of hearing “Maximal Crazy” for the first time. His remix here features similar sounds, with that same heavy back bassline, funky fun synths, and siren like sounds. This take on “Get Loose” from the epic Tiesto in one word: HUGE. Take a listen for yourself, this song will be blowing up DJ sets all summer.

Jay Z – Dirt Off Your Shoulder (Brillz & Z Trip Remix) [Free Download]

trapnation

I love trap music, and Brillz is one of my favorite producers in the genre. He has collaborated with the highly recognizable Z Trip for this ridiculous remix of Jay Z’s “Dirt Off Your Shoulder”, and I mean ridiculous in the best way possible. Not only is this track being offered as a free download, but it was also the first track featured on the Trapnation mixtape on Jay Z’s blog ‘Life + Times’. Brillz and Z Trip’s remix of the eternal “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” has completely transformed the hip-hop classic into a fresh new trap beat. It begins a trapstyle beat and builds into a funky, synth heavy drop, but that’s only the beginning. “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” continuously morphs with complexity of sounds and highlights each producer’s techniques. Don’t hesitate to add this song to your music library immediately.

Factures – Jeremy Olander (Original Mix)

sudbeatsEric Prydz has favorited Jeremy Olander’s production skills for quite some time with good reason. Out today through Sudbeat Music on Beatport is Olander’s latest track entitled “Factures”. The techno song features classic Olander simplicity with awesome funky elements. “Factures” is a highly danceable track, and though I am not a techno aficionado, I find this song to be very enjoyable and have listened to it over and over. Check the preview below or purchase the full track if you can’t get enough.

Skrillex Interview with Jeff Rosenthal at IMS

The first International Music Summit: Engage occurred almost a month ago on April 17th in Hollywood, California. Jeff Rosenthal interviewed Skrillex during the event and shed light on the producer’s musical history, music rights, previous musical engagements, and everything in between. In a surprisingly intelligent and informative interview, Skrillex gives insight into many factors within his progression into electronic music. The interview is lengthy, but is a really great conversation between Jeff and Sonny and their careers in music production.

Cirez D – Thunderstuck EP

thunderstruck

After much anxiety and anticipation for new music productions, Cirez D (Eric Prydz’s techno alias) has finally created two brilliant new tracks for our enjoyment. Together the tracks encompass the EP Thunderstuck, which includes the singles “Thunderstuck” and “Drums In The Deep”. The mini album was released today on Beatport through Mouseville, the label with which Prydz releases all Cirez D productions. Both tracks feature heavy baselines and techno synths, but are inherently different in their sounds. “Thunderstuck” has funkier elements to it and progresses to overlay a faster beat onto the original, with eerie vocals incomprehensible in the mix. “Drums In The Deep” begins with one simple sound repetition, and slowly builds with complexion and layers of synths. Have a listen to Cirez D’s latest creations, you will not be disappointed.

Jewelz and Scott Sparks – Hot Rod / White Sun (Original Mixes)

hot rod

After the smash hit “Toxic Rush” from the extraordinary pair Jewelz and Scott Sparks, we can only expect great productions from any collaboration the two work on. Here from Jewelz and Scott Sparks we have not one, but two amazing electro tracks, “Hot Rod” and “White Sun”. This perfect electro team have put their production skills to work yet again to create these killers songs, out today through Flamingo Recordings. The tracks have a similar feel to their sounds, however are extraordinarily different in content. “Hot Rod” is darker, incorporating a bass heavy back beat dominant in the intro. “White Sun” is funkier and more upbeat, with a melody present from the beginning of the track. I have a good feeling both of these tracks will be blowing up in the near future within many DJ’s festival sets. Listen below and let us know which track you prefer from these consistently amazing collaborators!
