In Miami we were able to catch up with LIV resident DJ and rising producer with a lot of talent. His name is Mednas and he holds it down at one of the most impressive clubs in the world opening for the world’s biggest DJs. Check out our interview with the man himself below:

Melodic progressive house has always been a refreshing type of dance music to listen to for me. Not only because of it’s musical beauty and vibe, but also due to it being more underground and not a type of house music you hear played at every festival or club. eleven.five is an upcoming American producer that produces this type of house music flawlessly, as seen here in his latest release on Silk Digital Records. It’ safe to say he’s going to have a huge year in 2013, after gaining support from Above & Beyond and Armin van Buuren late last year. The first track of this release, “Freckles”, is an uplifting progressive house tune full of bliss and deep vibes, thanks to flute and piano melodies, as well as a groovy bassline to keep you bobbing your head. A very successful remix of this track has been produced by none other than Luiz B, a Brazilian mastermind of house music. His take is a bit more clubby, being at 128 bpm from the 123 bpm original mix, with summery vibes throughout. Using beautiful vocal chops and melodies, Luiz B keeps the beat moving with pads and even some organic sounds to accompany the piano solo in the breakdown - chirping birds. This one has been on repeat for me, putting goosebumps down my spine every time! Finally, we have another original from eleven.five, titled “Echo”. This track is much deeper than the others, having some tech beat and deep bass work. The ‘echoing’ vibes along with the trumpet sampling give this tune a sound like none other I’ve heard. It’s always a good day when we have fresh material that comes from within the company and having the opportunity to watch as their talent develops immensely into something we can showcase. Today we couldn’t be more proud to present to you one of our hardest working reps and the music that defines him. Hailing from Duluth, Minnesota is Cameron Windsor, a.k.a Big Dog. Big Dog has been working his tail off for us for over a year and spreading that techi love across the Midwest. Cameron teamed up with his good buddy Swervy Puckett to deliver their first original mix titled, “Born to Rage”. As I’ve stated before, it’s a true challenge to construct an original trap song and make it something worth while. The Minnesota boys completely exceeded my expectations and this track has a great feel from start to finish. After a massive last gig in Miami with the Swedish House Mafia Steve Angello launches right back into his solo career with a bang as he joins pete tong on BBC Radio 1 for the legendary Essential Mix. This essential mix perfectly showcases Steve’s individual style with a strong presence of heavy tech and electro house tracks as well as many of the more predictable Swedish House Mafia set staples. I was also very happy to see that a Swedish duo that we have been championing for some time now, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman, have two tracks featured in the mix. Their upcoming collaboration with AN21 titled ‘Rebel’ as well as their remix of ‘People Of The Night’ were both featured in this mix and will be out on Size Records later this year.
