DJ Shadow versus Mansion Miami

Joshua Davis, otherwise known as DJ Shadow, cut his set short this past weekend at night club Mansion Miami. This event was part of his All Basses Covered tour in support of his most recent release, Reconstructed: The Definitive DJ Shadow.

The DJ was playing a track titled “Spit Thunder” by Krampfhaft that had ‘confused’ the club goers. After a short while, a promoter had come up to DJ Shadow and asked him to either play something mainstream/top 40 or stop playing all together. DJ Shadow cut his set short and left the club. Catch the video as well as the song he was playing below.

Later on, he had posted on his twitter, “I don’t care if I get kicked out of every rich kid club on the planet. I will never sacrifice my integrity as a DJ…ever. #AllBassesCovered.”

DJ Shadow’s next show is on December 29th in San Francsico for anyone who is a DJ Shadow fan. Fan or not though, DJ Shadow has gained my respect for sticking to what he loves and moving past the haters.
