You know you’ve attended a good show when your ears are ringing and you can’t understand what your friends are saying to you as you walk out the venue. This past weekend, on a warm San Francisco night, local EDM fans dressed up in Halloween costumes and headed to the Warfield for a night of pure House music.
Wolfgang Gartner has been on the charts for quite some time now. In the past couple years I have seen him play about five times, and never have I been disappointed. Wolfgang Gartner is lively, to say the least. His set, which started around 11pm, kept the crowd of cats, zombies, and Psy’s from Gangam Style dancing and fist pumping non stop. There was no break or dull moment through out the night.
With a unique and melodic sound, Wolfgang continued through his set gracefully. He allowed for an ascending progression and built up heavier drops with every new song. Playing his well-known favorites such as “Illmerica” and “Space Junk”, Wolfgang Gartner then carefully transitioned into some more intricate and funky beats. Even while he was bringing it back, dropping a catchy remix of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall”, his songs were loud and kept fans moving.
DJ Mag has called Wolfgang, “a hugely popular house artist in his own right” and while he is currently ranked at #60 on this year’s Top 100 DJs, he definitely one of our favorites. With House music as his medium, Wolfgang Gartner is an artist painting a musical picture, while keeping his fans smiling and dancing. His Love and War Tour continues across North America, so check out his site HERE where you can purchase tickets. We highly recommend it.
