Unveiling: Protohype [Free Download]

In honor of Wobble Wednesday, it’s time we introduce you to a soon-to-be big name in the dubstep world. Now that might sound like quite the exaggerated statement, but believe me when I say it is the truth – this guy is the real deal. Everything he has put out in the last few months has built onto the snowball effect of a success he is creating for himself by releasing every track for free. Music Monday is something this producer firmly believes in and releasing a new track every Monday for free is what he loves to do. Who is this angel sent from above you might ask? Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, is 22 year old dub-hop producer Max Pote who embraces the alias, Protohype. After graduating high school, Max made the ever so wise decision of attending Arizona State University where he quickly became intrigued by producing music. After quickly taking over and running the heavily followed dubstep scene of Arizona, Pote decided his next move would be to move to the land where dreams become a reality, the city of angels. Upon his arrival to LA, Max enrolled in the world famous Icon Collective Production School, where he swiftly learned to master the art of production. With the ability to take any genre and turn it into his distinct dub-hop sound, Max carries a very special power to envision something and turn it into a reality. During his time with Icon, we have seen Pote release remixes of names like T.I., Adventure Club, Venga Boys, and Krewella. However, remixes aren’t his only specialty. We have also seen many originals along the way, including collaborations with producers such as AFK, Kezwik and CRNKN.

Max graduated from Icon but remains involved by serving as a mentor on the teaching staff where he continuously enhances his musical talent. With his most recent remix of Crystal Vision’s “Last Stand”, Max has shown us the epitome of musical expression. Fusing many influences from glitch, blazing guitar riffs, and beautiful synths, Protohype has created a true work of art ranging in many styles. This remix of “Last Stand” is just one of the many full-proof bangers that Protohype has created in the last year. Max is currently preparing to embark on his biggest show to date, in which he will be co-headlining the Avalon Theater in Hollywood with the godfather of dubstep, Caspa.
